BCC students on All-Kansas Academic Team honored in Topeka

Four students from Barton Community College in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society were recognized at an award luncheon at the Ramada Inn in Topeka Thursday for being selected as members of the PTK All-Kansas Academic Team.

Next hearing scheduled in Longoria trial

Great Bend Rec earns state kudos

Administrators from the Great Bend Recreation Commission received statewide recognition at the Kansas Recreation & Park Association's annual conference, held Jan. 24-27 at Topeka. Program Coordinator Garet Fitzpatrick received the Distinguished Recreation Programmer award, and Executive Director Diann Henderson received the Distinguished Professional Award. GBRC Program Coordinator Chris Umphres presented the award to Henderson.

Farm expo coming to town

The 2015 Great Bend Farm and Ranch Expo will be held Wednesday through Friday, April 8, 9, and 10, 2015 in Great Bend. The show is located at the Expo Complex west of town. The show hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the 8th, 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. on the 9th and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the 10th with extended hours on Thursday.
