Torrential rain fell for more than 24 hours resulting in flash flooding, landslides and rivers overflowing their banks. Reports of impassable roads, loss of crops and livestock are widespread throughout rural Haiti.

The correct reference is " a raffle for a cash giveaway." This should not be confused with the $12,000 cash giveaway campaign currently promoted by Great Bend's Eagle radio.

The Barton County Extension Council will hold elections to fill positions on program development committees Monday, Oct. 29, at the Barton County Extension Office at 1800 12th Street. Election time is 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Any Barton County resident who is at least 18 years of age may vote in this election.
