Danny Cahill achieved fame when he lost 239 pounds in six and a half months to become the Season 8 winner of NBC's "The Biggest Loser." Over 15 years, Cahill estimates he's lost at least half a ton - lost weight and regained it, that is. "In the long run, it would be better to lose the 'quit.'" he said. "Lose Your Quit" has become his message for success in weight loss or any other venture.

GBHS comedy goes high tech

The curtain will rise at 2 p.m. Sunday for the first of three performances of "The Love of Three Oranges" by Hilary DePiano, the Great Bend High School spring play. It can also be seen at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the high school auditorium. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults and are available at the door.

Local residents and longtime supporters of Barton Community College Gregg and Leann Fischer will help the Barton Foundation kick-off the Academic Enrichment Fund Campaign on Thursday, March 1, as honorary cochairs for the fundraising effort. The month-long annual campaign raises money for academic scholarships for Barton students and programs.
