Attorneys seek hearing on photos in Longoria case

Defense attorneys for Adam Joseph Longoria have asked for a pre-trial hearing to determine what photos will be admitted at his capital murder trial. His attorneys also want a hearing in October or November, in addition to the one scheduled for 9 a.m. on July 21, to deal with pre-trial motions.

Rykiel formally charged with three felonies

The man arrested after 15-year-old Jessica Cheyanne Shearer died on July 4 has been formally charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child, criminal sodomy with a child 14-16 years old and aggravated endangering a child.

Great Bend, Garden City lose 3i

DODGE CITY – The annual 3i Show, the ag exposition that for years alternated between Great Bend and Garden City, will no longer be held in either community, the Western Kansas Manufactures' Association announced Tuesday. From 2012-2016, it will take place in Dodge City.

GBRC announces 2011-2012 budget

The Great Bend Recreation Commission is proposing a maximum general fund budget of $1,649,900 for fiscal year 2011-12, with $485,990 earmarked for personnel. An additional $164,720 not included in the $1.6 million is budgeted for the employee benefit fund, GBRC Director Diann Henderson said Monday as her board of directors held its public budget hearing.

State amends Longoria charges

New motions filed in the capital murder case against Adam Joseph Longoria change one of the charges from criminal sodomy to indecent liberties with a child. The motions also describe how Longoria, suspected of killing 14-year-old Alicia Debolt last August, previously made undercover drug buys for the Great Bend Police Department.
