The following well-balanced and nutritious Friendship Meals will be served for lunch at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave. Meals are served with milk; donations for coffee and tea are accepted.
Former students, spouses and parents of Barton County District 71 country school, west of Hart's corner, held their third annual reunion on Aug. 19, at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Those attending were: Bill and Marie (Roach) Stanley, Jimmie and Gary Ellis, Cathy (McNett) Johnson, David Gaunt, Nita (Peterson) Mohr, Richard (Bud) and Marla Brocher. Not pictured are Carley Day (mother of Pam and Mike Day) and Arleen Whittaker, former teacher.
The annual reunion of family and friends of Conrad and Rosa Matal Scheuerman was held Aug. 6 and 7, at Camp Aldrich. The family gathered Saturday for a barbecue. Sunday activities included a church service conducted by Leanne Russell, dinner and visiting. The reunion ended Monday with breakfast at Perkins Restaurant.
The Great Bend High School Class of 1961 will hold their 55th class reunion on Aug. 12, and Aug. 13, at the Best Western Courtyard with social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. The class invites all their teachers and spouses and friends from other classes to join them after 8 p.m. for visitation.
The annual reunion of descendants of Conrad Scheuerman, Elizabeth Schwindt Scheuerman and Rosa Matal Scheuerman will begin at 3 p.m. on Aug. 6, at Camp Aldrich. A BBQ will begin at 5 p.m. Activities will continue on Sunday with a church service at 9:45 a.m., pot-luck dinner at 12 p.m., swimming and games.
Great Bend High School Class of 1976 will hold their 40 year reunion on Sept. 3, at Stoneridge Country Club, 1438 24th Street. The first ever "Gathering of The Herd" Roundup of the family of James E. and Grace (Smith) Bell was held on July 2, 3 and 4, hosted by David and Karen (Bell) Birzer at their ranch near Cody, Wyo. Forty-one family members and ten guests were in attendance.
The Pawnee Rock All School reunion will be held on Aug. 6, at the Best Western Angus Inn Courtyard in Great Bend. Visiting will begin at 3 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m. For reservations call Ed Crosby at 620-285-2365 or 620-285-5398.
The descendents of Henry Brack, John Peter Brack, Johannes Brack and Phillip Brack will hold their reunion on Aug. 7, at the Rush Center Community Center in Rush Center. A potluck dinner will be served at noon. Participants are asked to bring table service and a covered dish. Beverages will be furnished. There will be a short business meeting after the meal.
