The Peter A.R. Unruh and Sarah Boese Unruh Family Reunion was held on Nov. 2, at the First Christian Church in Great Bend. Those in attendance were Dwayne and Janis Deckert, Mary Anne Mull and Don, Brenda, Julietha, and Sarah Jones, all of Great Bend; Kevin and Marsha Reece, Larry Carr and Keith Mull all of Larned; Jeanine Haynes of Salina; and Vera Spencer and Leslie Peters of Wichita.
Claflin High School Class of 1947 held a social gathering and organizational meeting on Oct. 10, at the home of Virginia (Dressler) Klepper. Co-host was Eileen and Bob Ingersoll.
Odin High School Class of 1964 holds their 50th Class Reunion
The Great Bend High School Class of 1964 will hold their 50th reunion on Sept. 18 and Sept. 19 at the Best Western Courtyard in Great Bend. Friends are welcome to come visit after 8 p.m. on both nights.
The Rziha/Koester family reunion was held on Aug. 9, at the Claflin Parish Center. Members of the reunion committee were Linda Bahr, Marlene Lohmann, Kristia Zeretzke, Chuck and Janice Moore, and Jim and Jolene Rziha. The day started with registration. A meal was catered by the Wheatland Cafe of Hudson. After the meal a memorial service was held for the family members who have passed away since the last reunion three years ago. The Schneweis reunion was held on July 12, at the Parish Center in Claflin. Hosts were Les and Mary Lou Stewart, Paul and Bernice Huslig, Butch and Toni Schneweis, Lori Lane, Melanie Schneweis, Jim and Jolene Rziha, Bill & Lisa Richardson, Marty and Kathy Chacon. The 17th biennial Brack Reunion was held on Aug. 3, at the La Crosse City Auditorium. Fifty-three descendants registered under the families of Henry, John Peter, Johannes and Philip.
Descendants of William and Fern Schuster met on Aug. 9 and 10, at the Best Western Courtyard in Great Bend for a family reunion. Hosts were Nancy and Mark Thul, Stan and Diana Schuster, Diana Pekarek and Wilma Schuster.
Descendents of August A. and Pruella (Hager) Christiansen held the annual Christiansen on Aug. 9, at the Larned Community. A pot luck dinner was served at noon. Barbara Adams is the Patriarch of the family now.
The Mathilda and Joseph Birzer 36th family reunion was held on Aug. 3 at the Kinsley 4-H building in Kinsley, KS with a pot luck dinner. Host family was Albert Birzer's daughters, Janey Clark, Betty Peterson, Becky Hornung, and Ella Haskell, and spouses and family members. Family from eight different states was represented.
Descendants of the late Martin and Margaret Neeman Hemken met on Aug. 3, at Gambino's in LaCrosse for their 85th reunion, hosted by descendants of the late Fred and Anna Hemken, Arlyn Renz, Janice Johnson and Cheryl Summers and Velda Lewis.

On Nov. 7, past employees of Lane-Wells Company, a Perforating and Logging Company, held a reunion in Great Bend at the American Legion. Lane-Wells left this area in the early 90's after being located in Great Bend for about 45 years. The company employed approximately 5O people. In addition to Great Bend, Lane-Wells had stations in Russell, Stockton, Atwood, Eldorado, Pratt and Liberal. They employed over 150 people, including Great Bend.
