CHICAGO- The White Sox completed an unofficial sweep of the Royals on Sunday at U.S. Cellular Field with a 5-3 victory in the regularly scheduled contest. The White Sox also won the suspended game from Friday by a 3-2 margin, when Avisail Garcia delivered a walk-off single against Kelvin Herrera to score Melky Cabrera. The teams only needed to play the ninth to complete that game.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Kansas City Royals earned a reputation for being a scrappy bunch last year, when they stole bases and dazzled on defense and used old-school small ball to reach Game 7 of the World Series.
Dayton Moore became general manager of the Royals on June 8, 2006, and he was charged with rebuilding a once-proud small-market franchise that was in the midst of a playoff drought that would last 29 years.
