An officer from the Great Bend Police Department arrested Bryce Anderson, 20, for flee and elude and other traffic infractions, at 1:16 a.m. Sunday at Burger King, 3929 10th St. He was booked for fleeing and eluding law enforcement, obstruction, driving while revoked, no insurance, reckless driving, speeding, obstructed windshield, failure to yield at stop sign and failure to use turn signal. He posted a $5,000 surety bond through Ace Bail Bonding and was released.
The Great Bend Police Department on Tuesday received several reports of counterfeit money being passed at local businesses. Bill were received at Love's, 1221 10th St.; Burger King, 3929 10th St.; and First Kansas Bank, 2223 Broadway Ave.
Two residents of Sugar Land, Texas, were taken to Hays Medical Center with possible injuries Monday after their westbound sport utility vehicle was rear-ended by a car on Interstate 70 in Ellis County.
