House hit by 9 mm bullet

Delete Crime Stoppers of Barton County and Great Bend is seeking information about a bullet that hit a house in Great Bend at the end of March or first half of April, Police Chief Dean Akings said. ​Vehicle hits bicycle

Great Bend Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of 10th St. at 8:06 p.m. Monday, after a vehicle hit a man on a bicycle. Casey Hoffman was driving west on 11th and struck Kevin Mata, who was riding a bike northbound across 11th St. from an alley. Mata was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

​Charging dog shot by officer

A Great Bend Police officer shot a dog at 1140 18th St., Monday afternoon at 4:22 p.m., after the dog charged at him. Police were summoned to that address after someone reported being chased by "a vicious pit bull" in the area. The dog's owner was cited for having a vicious dog.

​Vehicle with six passengers rolls on I-70

RUSSELL - Six Russell residents were taken to the Russell County Hospital with possible injuries after a one-vehicle rollover on Interstate 70. Kansas Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred at 1 p.m. Saturday in Russell County, 0.6 miles east of the Bunker Hill exit.

Crime Stoppers seeks information on the theft of a 2005 Diamond T trailer. Great Bend Police Chief Dean Akings said it was stolen April 25 or 26 from behind a residence at 3010 17th in Great Bend. ​Wildlife centers will offer Saturday event

The Great Migration Rally will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Participants start at Quivira National Wildlife Refuge and "migrate" the Wetlands and Wildlife Scenic Byway to the Kansas Wetlands Education Center, stopping at three points and acquiring cards worth points along the route.
