Two people were taken to Central Kansas Medical Center on Monday after cars collided on NE 30 Road and NE 10 Ave., three miles north and one mile east of Great Bend.

The Great Bend Recreation Commission will host a Christmas Entertaining Meals program on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Great Bend Recreation Center, 1214 Stone St. Program coordinator Garet Fitzpatrick says, "Get into the Christmas spirit with a wonderful meal and the sounds from the Great Bend Middle School Women In Harmony group. The meal will begin at noon and entertainment will be held from 12:15–12:45 p.m., followed by time to visit with your friends before you head back to work at 1 p.m."

Two women were taken to Edwards County Hospital in Kinsley early Saturday after a rollover accident 1.2 miles north of U.S. 50 on 180th Road in Edwards County, the Kansas Highway Patrol reports.

Great Bend police received two more burglary reports on Monday.
A double fatality accident occurred last Thursday in Rush County, when two trucks collided at and unmarked intersection on sanded roads, the Rush County Sheriff's Office confirmed Monday. Dale Rausch and Bernard Gilner were pronounced dead at the scene. Daniel Stegman was transported to Hays Medical Center in Hays by Rush County Emergency Medical Service with undetermined injuries.
A burglary at 1521 Jefferson St. in Great Bend was reported Sunday morning. Someone allegedly broke into the residence and took numerous items, including $1,100 cash, an iPod Touch and a PlayStation.
