RUSSELL - A new exhibition at the Deines Cultural Center in Russell explores the role of the landscape in contemporary art. The "Finding Balance" exhibition will be shown at the Center, located at 820 Main Street, from Friday, May 23, through July 10. This exhibition was curated by Fort Hays State University Professor of Painting Joel T. Dugan, who selected works from 15 renowned artists from around the country.

McCRACKEN - A Colwich woman was injured Friday morning in a one-vehicle accident in Rush County, about 4.5 miles north of McCracken. Theresa Marie Schippers, 18, was transported to Hays Medical Center in Hays.
HOLYROOD - A Holyrood man died Friday morning as the result of a vehicular collision on K-156 and 5th Road in Ellsworth County, half a mile east of Holyrood. James L. Thach, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene.
