The Great Bend Recreation Commission will host "Spooky Trails," a free Stop 'N Learn session at Brit Spaugh Zoo, from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29. Zoo Education Coordinator Amber Koch will lead an informational walking tour with fun-filled and haunting facts about the animals.

A medical fundraiser for Mike Ney will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the St. John's Catholic Parish Center, 122 E. 5th Street in Hoisington. A freewill donation will be accepted. The menu will be ham, potatoes, vegetable, coleslaw, dessert and a drink.

Barton Community College's Board of Trustees will consider a proposed policy change that would allow beer or wine to be served on campus during special events. The proposal is on the agenda for a board meeting set for 4 p.m. Monday at the Seminar Room, F-30, on the lower level of the Fine Arts Building. The meeting was changed from the trustees' regular Thursday date because of scheduling conflicts.
