Have lunch with a hedgehog

Danielle Ricklefs from Brit Spaugh Zoo will present "Critters in Classrooms" today at noon at the Great Bend Activity Center. Ricklefs, the education coordinator at Great Bend's zoo, will bring a hedgehog and/or other animal ambassadors from the zoo that travel to area classrooms.

'Journey of the Universe' to be shown Friday

Dominican Sisters of Peace will show the motion picture "Journey of the Universe" at 6:15 p.m. Friday, March 22, in the auditorium of the Motherhouse, 3600 Broadway Ave. A freewill donation is requested. Man battered at convenience store made multiple calls to police

A Great Bend man was allegedly battered by four other people, Saturday night or early Sunday at the Kwik Shop at 24th and Main. The Great Bend Police Department is investigating after viewing a surveillance video of the altercation. GBMS band concert

The Great Bend Middle School Band Department will be having their spring band concerts on Thursday at the Great Bend Middle School gym. The 7th Grade Band the GBMS Jazz Ensemble concert will begin at 6:45 p.m. The 8th Grade Band and the GBMS Jazz Ensemble concert will begin at 8:15 p.m. The concerts are free and open to the public. The bands are directed by Kurtis Koch and assisted by Mark DeWald.
