An accidental hit-and-run case is now considered an aggravated battery case, based on new information received by the Great Bend Police Department, Lt. Bill Browne said Monday. The man who reported being hit by a car as he was walking the night of Monday, March 19, now says the driver tried to run him over.
Parents of students interested in enrolling in the summer session of Driver Education are invited to attend a Driver Ed meeting held by Mr. Meter on April 11 in the GBHS commons. Great Bend Regional Hospital is offering an inexpensive way for members of the public to learn their health numbers at Spring Check-up Lab Fair, which will be held from 6-7:30 a.m. April 3 and 6 at GBRH.
Donations are being accepted for a May 31 garage sale at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3111, located at 504 Washington St. in Great Bend. This project is sponsored by the hospital part of VFW Post No. 3111 M.O.C., and all of the proceeds will go to veterans in need of help.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Great Bend Noon Kiwanis Club is set for 9:30 a.m. sharp, Saturday, April 19. The hunt will be at the Kiwanis Walking Track on the north side of Veterans Memorial Park, just off McKinley St. The event is open to all area children, pre-school through 6th grade. Chairman Mike Nicholson said there will be lots of Easter eggs for all.

Barton Community College professionals will offer resume assistance and teach attendees how to create an effective resume during workshops offered this week.
