Helping Hands Preschool, along with Barton County Cooperative of Special Services and USD #428 - Great Bend, is looking for children to fill a limited number of openings still available in the 4-Year-old At-Risk Program for the 2011-2012 school year. This free program is sponsored by a grant from the Kansas State Board of Education. Helping Hands Preschool offers this program for children living in the Great Bend school district.

Crime Stoppers is seeking information about the theft of a black enclosed trailer and the two Yamaha Banshie four-wheelers inside it. Great Bend Police Chief Dean Akings said the tailer was stolen from 1201 Jackson St. sometime between 6 p.m. on March 22 and 8:30 a.m. on March 23.
