Kids Day Out Safety Day taking enrollments

The Great Bend Recreation Commission has openings for the Kids Safety Day Out program on Friday, June 29, Program Coordinator Garet Fitzpatrick said. Activities will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St. This program is for children 6-12 years old.

Cash and cigarettes stolen

Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a burglary that happened in the early hours of May 3 at Cervs, 1000 Main in Great Bend. Police Chief Dean Akings said a window was broken with a piece of concrete. Cash and cigarettes were stolen. Damage and property loss were in excess of $1,900.

Medical issue sends motorist to hospital

A Cimarron man was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital following a one-vehicle accident Wednesday morning in the 600 block of NE 40 Road, about three miles north and three miles east of Great Bend.

Thief pried open sun roof

Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a vehicular burglary that occurred sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Monday, June 11 and 6:15 a.m. on June 12 at the Best Western Angus Inn, 2920 10th St. Police Chief Dean Akings said someone broke into a 2002 Hyundai by prying open the sun roof. "Taken was a Garmin GPS, a Nikon digital camera, a survival pack and the owner's manual for this vehicle. There was extensive damage to the car also," Akings said. "Loss was $3,500.
