Copper wire theft costs victim thousands
Crime Stoppers of Barton County and Great Bend is seeking information about break-ins at Venture Corporation, at both the home office, 214 South U.S. 281, Great Bend, and the plant at Dundee. Copper wire was stolen at both locations, and both buildings had damage. Property loss and damage are estimated at $30,000. The Great Bend Middle School Band Department will be having their spring band concerts on Thursday at the Great Bend Middle School gym. The 7th Grade Band the GBMS Jazz Ensemble concert will begin at 6:45 p.m. The 8th Grade Band and the GBMS Jazz Ensemble concert will begin at 8:15 p.m. The concerts are free and open to the public.
