Cunningham plans entertaining talk on War of 1812

Beekeeper to give Stop ‘N Learn program

The Great Bend Recreation Commission will host a free Stop 'N Learn Session titled "Busy Bees" from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th. Greg Swob, owner of Swobee Honey Farm, will share information about bees, honey production and basic equipment used in beekeeping during this informational program. Crime Stoppers seeks info on burglary

Sometime between Feb. 20 and March 11, a storage building at 900 MacArthur Road in Great Bend was burglarized. Police Chief Dean Akings reports two 3-ton York air conditioners were stolen. Sterling Chorale makes its final “Tour Stop” in Sterling

The Sterling Chorale will perform the last concert of its annual spring tour at 3 p.m. this Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Sterling. This is the same concert the Chorale took on a tour during Sterling's spring break. There is no admission charge for the event.

FOE rasing funds to relight neon eagle

The Fraternal Order of Eagles in Great Bend is rasing money to restore the neon eagle sign outside the FOE social room at 1024 Main. One fundraiser will be a dance from 7-11 p.m. Saturday, April 2, with The Country Plus Band playing. The suggested donation is $3 per person or $5 per couple.

American Legion gets into the swing of spring with supper

The Great Bend American Legion Post 180 is celebrating spring and the return of American Legion Baseball with an all you can eat supper from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the post, 1011 Kansas Ave. The cost is $6 they will be serving vegetable beef, ham and beans, potato and chicken and noodles, plus a variety of desserts furnished by the American Legion Auxiliary.

Potts to speak at Pawnee Rock Christian Church

A student's name was misspelled in Thursday's article from Barton Community College about the awards presented in a juried show for area high school students.
