BCC presents holiday concert, also to be aired on SHPTV
Barton Community College vocal and instrumental music groups will perform their holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, in the college's Fine Arts Auditorium for the taping of "Holiday on the Hill" by Smoky Hills Public Television. Bison Methodist Church Annual Thanksgiving Dinner
Bison Methodist Church will hold their Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 at West 1st and Ash in Bison. The meal will be a traditional home-cooked dinner. Rollover victim's condition critical
The rural Russell man involved in a rollover accident on Tuesday was listed in critical condition, a spokesman for Via Christi Medical Center's St. Francis Hospital said Wednesday. Robert Yarmer, 52, was pinned inside his truck after it rolled in the 1300 block of NW 190 Road. Drivers decline treatment after two-car collision
An ambulance was summoned after two cars collided Wednesday morning on U.S. 281 at NE 20 Road, but both drivers refused medical treatment at the scene, the Barton County Sheriff's Office reports. The Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave., will celebrate American Education Week with a coffee from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday. Unified School District 428 schools' music departments will entertain, and there will be coffee and rolls.
Holiday Home Touhr
Holiday Home Tour 2010, "Dressed for the Season", will be sponsored by the Barton County Fair Friends from 1 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 5. The afternoon tour will include five Great Bend houses. Tickets are available for $10 each and are available from the Barton County Fair Friends, Barton County Fair Board members, Community Bank, Credit Union, the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and online at bartoncountyfair.com. Proceeds will benefit the Barton County Fair.

Man battered at convenience store made multiple calls to police
A Great Bend man was allegedly battered by four other people, Saturday night or early Sunday at the Kwik Shop at 24th and Main. The Great Bend Police Department is investigating after viewing a surveillance video of the altercation. The Great Bend Middle School Band Department will be having their spring band concerts on Thursday at the Great Bend Middle School gym. The 7th Grade Band the GBMS Jazz Ensemble concert will begin at 6:45 p.m. The 8th Grade Band and the GBMS Jazz Ensemble concert will begin at 8:15 p.m. The concerts are free and open to the public.
