Heart of Kansas Quilt Guild will hold their "Quilts on the Prairie" quilt show from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 29 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 30 at the Kansas State Fairgrounds Domestic Arts Building in Hutchinson. Quilted items will be for sale. "Trunk Show" by Lola Jenkins will be held at 11 a.m. on July 30. Cost for the two days is $5.
This week's Chamber of Commerce Coffee will be hosted by Aaron's Sales and Lease, 4905 W. 10th Street, at 9:30 a.m., Thursday. Ambassador in charge will be Eric Gotsche, with greeters Lynda Jamison and Rebecca Ford. Coffee, doughnuts and door prizes will be available.
A Hoisington man was injured in a one-vehicle accident in the 10 block of NW 100 Road. The Barton County Sheriff's Office reports James Lyons, 25, was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital by Hoisington ambulance with undetermined injuries.
The After Harvest Czech Festival will be held on July 30 in Wilson. A Czech Buffet, made by St. Wenceslaus Altar Society will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., or when the food runs out, at 2811 Ave. D. Menu consists of roast beef, roast pork, jaternice, potatoes in dill gravy, sauerkraut, dumplings, vegetables, rohlicky, kolaches and a drink. Price is $11 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 10. Kolaches and other homemade items will be sold at the Country Store from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Simple Haven Bed and Breakfast, 615 27th Street in Wilson, will host an Art and Music Festival from 2 to 4 p.m. on July 30. Featured will be works by Jim Pruner, Terri Horner, Debbie Wagner, Becky Hyberger, Mark Swiderski, Gordon and Rae Zahradnik and Marilyn Pfeiffer-Hake. Music will be provided by John Andrews on the piano at 2 p.m. and The Backwater Boys, bluegrass/country/gospel/folk/Americana, at 4 p.m. by the historic water tower.
The Great Bend Recreation Commission will be host the free program "Agriculture Around the World," at 1 p.m. Monday at the Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave. Rena Berrett, Barton County Extension intern, will share some of the experiences she has had with agriculture through her exchange program.
Great Bend Fire Department units were dispatched to the Red Barn plant Tuesday evening after ammonia vented from a condenser unit on the air conditioning cooling tower. Battalion Chief Rick Robison said there were no injuries and the vapors soon dissipated.

Two people were taken to Via Chriti Medical Center's St. Francis Hospital in Wichita on Friday after two vehicles collided on U.S. 50 at the U.S. 281 junction in Stafford County, 2.5 miles south of St. John.
