Ruth Searight, Pawnee County clerk and elections officer, said Wednesday that her office at the courthouse in Larned will be open for advance voting from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, for Tuesday's General Election.
United Methodist Women will have their annual turkey dinner/fundraiser from 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Larned United Methodist Church. Price is $7, or $8 at the door.
The Larned Kiwanis Club will have its annual Pancake Feed from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday. Soups and pies will be served from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., as well as the pancake meal at the Haas Building in northeast Larned, on the fairgrounds. Admission will be $6 for adults, $5 for "seniors," 65 and older, if purchased in advance. Children ages 4-10 may eat for $2, advance tickets only. All tickets will be $7 at the door Saturday.
Pawnee County commissioners will have a special meeting at 10:30 a.m. today in the Commissioners Room, on the second floor of the courthouse in Larned. They will discuss the Master Plan Report regarding Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.

The City of Rozel is holding an Open House and ribbon cutting from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday to celebrate the opening of the new Water Treatment plant located at 203 North Main Street. The City of Rozel was awarded a Community Development Block Grant and a Grant Loan from USDA Rural Development. The purpose of the grant was to construct a filtration facility and to dig a new well to improve the city's water.
