Commissioners to meet, discuss

Pawnee County commissioners will have a special meeting at 10:30 a.m. today in the Commissioners Room, on the second floor of the courthouse in Larned. They will discuss the Master Plan Report regarding Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.

City of Rozel Open House

The City of Rozel is holding an Open House and ribbon cutting from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday to celebrate the opening of the new Water Treatment plant located at 203 North Main Street. The City of Rozel was awarded a Community Development Block Grant and a Grant Loan from USDA Rural Development. The purpose of the grant was to construct a filtration facility and to dig a new well to improve the city's water.

4-Hers will showcase their projects and answer any questions you may have concerning joining 4-H from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the next Community Market located north of Carr Auction. 20th Annual Last Chance Golf Tournament

The 20th Annual Last Chance Golf Tournament will be held on Oct. 17 at the Larned Country Club. Registration will be from 8:30 to 9 a.m. with a 9:15 a.m. Shotgun start. Splash pad on city council's agenda

Larned's City Council will have a special session at 6:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 417 Broadway. One agenda item is a review of the donation policy for a splash pad/Doerr-Vernon Park renovation. Vets Service rep to be in Larned area today

Vincent Scott Dorsey, Veterans' Service representative, will be in Larned from noon until 2 p.m. today at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Home. He will then be in the Reimbursement Office at Larned State Hospital from 2:30 until 4 p.m. to assist veterans and their dependents or survivors with questions about veterans' benefits.
