WICHITA - Randall Eugene Oliver, 89, passed away March 11 at Lakewood Senior Living Center in Wichita. He was born Sept. 15, 1921, in Madison, the son of Willis Monroe and Amy Freelove Holland Oliver. He graduated from Madison High School in 1939. He retired from the U. S. Navy and had served during World War II in the Pacific.

OMAHA, NEB. - Barbara C. Boyd, 62, of Omaha, Neb., died Feb. 27. She was born on Jan. 11, 1949.
Paul Turnbull, 81, went to meet Jesus Feb. 20, 2011. Paul, the youngest of 11, and his twin, John, were born in Elizabeth, Pa., in 1929. He attended Sterling College and served as Bushton Postmaster 42 years and on boards of USD 328 and Great Bend Center for Counseling. Paul loved gardening, swimming, family camping trips, making home-made ice cream, playing Boogaloo and Tennessee Turnbull Reunions.
Archie "Galen" Allen, 73, died March 4 at home in Great Bend. He was born Jan. 25, 1938, at Great Bend, the son of Archie Roy and Rosetta Mae (Smiley) Allen. He married Barbara Leah Feaster on Jan. 1, 1963, at Windsor, Mo. She died June 29, 2006. He worked for the Boeing Company in Seattle, Wash., as an engineer. Mr. Allen was a lifelong resident of Great Bend, also living in Bozeman, Mont., Seattle, Wash., and Torrance, Calif.
ELLINWOOD - Wilma G. Dannebohm, 75, died March 7 at Stafford County Hospital in Stafford. She was born May 3, 1935, at Midian, the daughter of Ted and Irene Waterman Zimmerman. She graduated from Ellinwood High School. A lifetime Ellinwood resident, she was a nurse at Ellinwood District Hospital, a florist at Flowers and Things and a secretary at Immanuel United Church of Christ, all of Ellinwood.
NESS CITY - Gilbert Philip Rebel, age 84, passed away on March 5 at Hays Medical Center in Hays. He was born on Feb. 18, 1927, in Schoenchen, the son of Joe and Lena Zimmerman Rebel. He was a farmer and he worked for Ness County road maintenance for 37 years.
KIMBALL, Neb. - Patrick A. Dunegan, 73, of Kimball, Neb., died March 3 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colo. Born Sept. 6, 1939, in Ellinwood, he was the son of Patrick and Mildred (Powell) Dunegan. He was raised and attended school in Great Bend. He married Carol L. Wenger on Sept. 15, 1957, at Great Bend. The family moved to Kimball in 1958 and he worked with Curley Hensley doing metal fabrication in the oil field. He retired in 2007.
LIEBENTHAL - William W. "Bill" Legleiter, 85, of Liebenthal, passed away March 6 at Hays Medical Center in Hays. Born on Nov. 11, 1925, in rural Liebenthal, he was the son of Nick and Katie (Urban) Legleiter. He married Rita Giebler on Nov. 27, 1946, in Catharine. He was a farmer and stockman who was known to be a hard working man. He had served on the La Crosse Co-op Board and School Board and was a 4-H leader in Liebenthal.

HOISINGTON - Martin "Marty" C. Smith, 58, passed away Sunday May 19, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City. Born October 7, 1954 in Denver, Colo., he was the son of Robert E. and Evelyn (Collins) Smith. On Jan. 16, 1998 he married Karen King in Springfield, Mo. Marty moved to Hoisington in 2008 coming from Lovington, New Mexico. He served his country in the United States Army and worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator until he was disabled.
Edna I. (Craig) Logan Francis, 99, formerly of Claflin, died Friday, May 17 at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. Born Nov. 5, 1913 near Caldwell, she was the daughter of Homer Francis and Katie Elmira (Siebenthaler) Craig.

LARNED - Dorothy D. Fox, 88, died May 16 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita. Born Oct. 12, 1924, in Muskegon, Mich., she was the daughter of Ernest W. Goldsmith. On Dec. 15, 1946, she married Walter Mac Fox in Wichita. A longtime area resident of Larned, she was a farmer's wife, a Rosie Riveter for Boeing during World War II and worked in the Dietary Department at Larned State Hospital.

ROCKPORT, Texas - Ralph Marion Winkelman, 94, died on May 9. He was born on Feb. 27, 1919. In 1938, he graduated from Chase High School. He entered the United States Army during World War II and served with the 13th Airborne Division in France, Belgium, Ireland and Scotland. After the war he worked for Kaw Pipeline in Kansas and in 1963, transferred to Houston and worked for the pipeline division of Texaco.

WICHITA - Christine M. Suchy, 93, died May 9th. A former resident of Great Bend, she was a retired Assistant Manager for Payless Shoes. Christine was an avid gardener and crafter.
