KANOPOLIS - Judith "Judy" Allen Bunch Maddox Schroeder, 71, Kanopolis, died Feb. 27. There will be no services but a celebration of Judy's life will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Community Center in Kanopolis beginning at approximately 11 a.m. Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is handling arrangements.
Rock Wayne Becker, 50, died Feb. 26 as a result of an automobile accident. Born Sept. 14, 1960, he was the son of Wayne and Karen (Brenner) Becker. On Dec. 31, 2006, he married Ivy Buhrle in Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was president of WHB Inc. and a director and part owner of Becker Tire.
HAYS - Roger A. Gray, 73, died Feb. 25, peacefully at his home with the loving care of his wife and Hospice of Hays Medical Center.
KINSLEY - Marcielle Parker, 90, died Feb. 24 at Edwards County Hospital in Kinsley. She was born Aug. 21, 1920, at Kinsley, the daughter of Charles E. and Eva Hildenbrand Countryman. She married Robert L. Parker in September of 1967 at Elkhart. He died Dec. 25, 2004. A resident of Kinsley, she was a teacher.
MCPHERSON -Virginia Edna Saling-Marx, 85, of McPherson, passed away Monday, Feb. 21 while in the company of family members at Hospice House, Hutchinson. Mrs Marx was born in Bazine on Oct. 14, 1925, the daughter of George and Lizzie (Dell) Stieben - Adolph. Virginia attended the Bazine grade schools and attended Bazine High School, Bazine, Kansas.
Harbey Fanshier, 87, died Thursday, Feb. 24, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Feb. 7, 1924, at Stafford County, the son of Charles and Martha (Fischer) Fanshier.
EDMOND, Okla. - Elsie Keil Herber, 95, died on Feb. 16, at Edmond, Okla. She was born Dec. 5, 1915, at Galatia, the daughter of Benjamin and Bertha Strecker Keil. She grew up and attended school in the Galatia, Milberger area. She worked for many years as a housekeeper in Russell. On May 9, 1970, she married Raymond Herber and they resided in Wilson, until his death on November 14, 1992. After his death, she moved to Edmond, Okla. to be close to her son and his family.
GREAT BEND - William "Bill" Feist, 78, died Feb. 23 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. He was born May 2, 1932 near Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Barton County, the son of Conrad and Viola (Liebl) Feist.
LARNED -Jaxson Douglas Snodgrass, infant son, died Feb. 22, 2011, at Hays Medical Center, Hays.
LARNED - Lloyd George Lewis, 92, known to many friends and family as "Bus," died Monday afternoon at Hays Regional Medical Center, after suffering a heart attack earlier in the day. Lloyd would have been 93 April 27. The previous Saturday Lloyd had driven to his son's and daughter-in-law's homes to watch his favorite team, the Kansas Jayhawks, play the Colorado Buffaloes.
MCPHERSON - Virginia Edna Marx, 85, died Feb. 21 at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Oct. 14, 1925.

HAYS – Alex Fredrick Bisterfeldt, age 90, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at the Hays Good Samaritan Center, Hays,. He was born May 21, 1920, in rural Ellsworth County to Carl and Dorothea (Funk) Bisterfeldt. He married Theresa (Short) on Oct.26, 1946, at Hays. She died Septe. 9, 2000.
Kent Darrell Hoss, 57, died Feb. 20 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center after a three battle with cancer. Born June 29, 1953 in Great Bend, he was the son of Paul and Dorothy Alice (Hall) Hoss. A resident of Great Bend most of his life, he was a carpenter and roofer.

PRESCOTT, Ariz. - Flora J. Grace, 90, formerly of Great Bend, died April 15, at her home in Prescott, Ariz.
HOISINGTON - Donald Dean Degenhardt, 72, entered into the presence of his Savior April 21 at his home, Hoisington, surrounded by his wife of nearly 50 years, his four daughters and one grandson. Don was born November 8, 1941 at home in LaCrosse, Kansas, the youngest child born to George and Anna Margaret (Meier) Degenhardt. He graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1959. He served in the Kansas National Guard from 1963 to 1969. On September 7, 1964, Don married Lyrie A. "Angel" Mead in Larned, Kansas.
PRATT - Carolee Webster, 79, died April 21, in Pratt. Born April 21, 1935, in Dodge City, she was the daughter of the late Dean and Mildred Deford. A graduate of Garden City High School, Carolee married the love of her life Jim Webster on July 17, 1952, in Clayton N.M. A devoted mother and coaches' wife, she followed her husband to Munden, Macksville, Cunningham, and Pratt where she has resided since 1973. She worked at Pratt County Hospital, Foreman Pipeline Industries, Eubank Veterinary Clinic and at the Sanders Agency in Pratt.
WICHITA - Mitchell Layne Wright, 55, died April 16, at his home in Wichita. Born Nov. 24, 1958, in Great Bend, he was the son of Terry and Alpha (Delker) Wright.
GARDEN CITY - Betty Ann (Steinert) Barnes, 71, died April 9, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. Born on Oct. 8, 1942, in Barton County, she was the daughter of Reuben R. and Edna Templing Steinert. In 1960, she graduated from Russell High School. A resident of Garden City since 1988, she was a certified dietician, having worked for the Russell Care Center in Russell. On Oct. 21, 1962, she married Harlan Maier in Milberger. LARNED - Eldon A. Hays, 86, passed away April 1, at Diversicare of Larned in Larned. Born July 21, 1927, in Pittsburg, he was the son of William Anderson and Hannah Laura Daykin Hays. On May 24, 1985, he married Linda Oles in Ness City. She survives. A resident of Larned, moving from Arizona in 2006, he was a grocery store manager. He was an avid hunter and loved any type of outdoor sports.

EL DORADO - Vernon L. Williams, 80, passed away on April 16, in Whitewater. Born on Feb. 21, 1934, in Madison, he was the son of Charles and Leta Marie (Reed) Williams. He was the owner of Fud Mud, Inc. and enjoyed fishing, wood working and his work.
LEBANON - Elaine A. Seems, 78, died Friday at Mitchell County Hospital, Beloit. She was born Oct. 9, 1954 in Esbon.
ELLINWOOD - Teresa "Toni" Batchman, 87, died April 17, 2014, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born Jan. 19, 1927, at Milwaukee, Wis. Toni graduated from Colorado Springs High School. She married Vernon Batchman on Aug. 5, 1944, at Colorado Springs, Colo. He died Jan. 29, 1995. An Ellinwood resident since 1944, she was a homemaker and artist.
GEORGETOWN, Ill. - Sandra Marie (Lamb) Miller, 66, of Georgetown. Ill., died April 13, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill.
