NEWTON - William "Bill" Alexander, 59, died Nov. 7 at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita. He was born May 24, 1951, in Denver, Colo. He graduated from Mound City High School and went on to complete two years at Fort Scott Junior college. He served three years with the United States Navy. Following that, he wisely used the G.I. HUMBOLDT - Marcell B. (Bernard) Tinkler, 88, of Humboldt, passed away Nov. 3, at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute. Bernard was born at Gypsum on Dec. 12, 1921, the son of Irl N. and Maudie M. (Mounkes) Tinkler. He served as an airborn radio operator/navigator during World War II from 1942 through 1945. James L. "Jim" Morton, 64, died Nov. 3 at his home in Great Bend. Born May 4, 1946, in Great Bend, he was the son of Loyd and Violet (Smith) Morton. On Aug. 28, 1970, he married Karen Collier in Great Bend. A resident of Great Bend since 1973, coming from Seward, he was a district manager for Halliburton for 25 years and production superintendent for Hartman Oil Company until his retirement in 2009.

LOVELAND, Colo. - Alvin R. Moeller was born Jan. 27, 1927, on a farm near Preston and passed from this life on Nov. 2 at his home in Loveland, Colo. He was 83 years old. HOISINGTON - Donald Dean Degenhardt, 72, entered into the presence of his Savior April 21 at his home, Hoisington, surrounded by his wife of nearly 50 years, his four daughters and one grandson. Don was born November 8, 1941 at home in LaCrosse, Kansas, the youngest child born to George and Anna Margaret (Meier) Degenhardt. He graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1959. He served in the Kansas National Guard from 1963 to 1969. On September 7, 1964, Don married Lyrie A. "Angel" Mead in Larned, Kansas.

A devoted mother and coaches' wife, she followed her husband to Munden, Macksville, Cunningham, and Pratt where she has resided since 1973. LARNED - Eldon A. Hays, 86, passed away April 1, at Diversicare of Larned in Larned. Born July 21, 1927, in Pittsburg, he was the son of William Anderson and Hannah Laura Daykin Hays.
