Claudie E. "Dolly" Southard, 95, of Great Bend, died Feb. 26 at Ellinwood District Hospital, Ellinwood. She was born May 4, 1915, at Owensboro, Ky., the daughter of Jesse Leroy and Edith Amanda (Jamison) Gough. She married George Wesley Southard on March 2, 1934, at Hutchinson. He died Feb. 26, 1978. A Great Bend resident since 1945, coming from Hutchinson, she was a homemaker.
KANOPOLIS - Judith "Judy" Allen Bunch Maddox Schroeder, 71, Kanopolis, died Feb. 27. There will be no services but a celebration of Judy's life will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Community Center in Kanopolis beginning at approximately 11 a.m. Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is handling arrangements.
Rock Wayne Becker, 50, died Feb. 26 as a result of an automobile accident. Born Sept. 14, 1960, he was the son of Wayne and Karen (Brenner) Becker. On Dec. 31, 2006, he married Ivy Buhrle in Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was president of WHB Inc. and a director and part owner of Becker Tire.
HAYS - Roger A. Gray, 73, died Feb. 25, peacefully at his home with the loving care of his wife and Hospice of Hays Medical Center.
KINSLEY - Marcielle Parker, 90, died Feb. 24 at Edwards County Hospital in Kinsley. She was born Aug. 21, 1920, at Kinsley, the daughter of Charles E. and Eva Hildenbrand Countryman. She married Robert L. Parker in September of 1967 at Elkhart. He died Dec. 25, 2004. A resident of Kinsley, she was a teacher.
MCPHERSON -Virginia Edna Saling-Marx, 85, of McPherson, passed away Monday, Feb. 21 while in the company of family members at Hospice House, Hutchinson. Mrs Marx was born in Bazine on Oct. 14, 1925, the daughter of George and Lizzie (Dell) Stieben - Adolph. Virginia attended the Bazine grade schools and attended Bazine High School, Bazine, Kansas.
Harbey Fanshier, 87, died Thursday, Feb. 24, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Feb. 7, 1924, at Stafford County, the son of Charles and Martha (Fischer) Fanshier.
EDMOND, Okla. - Elsie Keil Herber, 95, died on Feb. 16, at Edmond, Okla. She was born Dec. 5, 1915, at Galatia, the daughter of Benjamin and Bertha Strecker Keil. She grew up and attended school in the Galatia, Milberger area. She worked for many years as a housekeeper in Russell. On May 9, 1970, she married Raymond Herber and they resided in Wilson, until his death on November 14, 1992. After his death, she moved to Edmond, Okla. to be close to her son and his family.
GREAT BEND - William "Bill" Feist, 78, died Feb. 23 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. He was born May 2, 1932 near Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Barton County, the son of Conrad and Viola (Liebl) Feist.
LARNED -Jaxson Douglas Snodgrass, infant son, died Feb. 22, 2011, at Hays Medical Center, Hays.
LARNED - Lloyd George Lewis, 92, known to many friends and family as "Bus," died Monday afternoon at Hays Regional Medical Center, after suffering a heart attack earlier in the day. Lloyd would have been 93 April 27. The previous Saturday Lloyd had driven to his son's and daughter-in-law's homes to watch his favorite team, the Kansas Jayhawks, play the Colorado Buffaloes.
MCPHERSON - Virginia Edna Marx, 85, died Feb. 21 at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Oct. 14, 1925.

HAYS – Alex Fredrick Bisterfeldt, age 90, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at the Hays Good Samaritan Center, Hays,. He was born May 21, 1920, in rural Ellsworth County to Carl and Dorothea (Funk) Bisterfeldt. He married Theresa (Short) on Oct.26, 1946, at Hays. She died Septe. 9, 2000.
Betty J. Kramer, 84, died Aug. 31 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend. She was born April 6, 1930 at Otis, the daughter of Julius and Amelia (Georg) Muth.
William J. Burke, 84, died July 31 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita. He was born Oct. 18, 1929 at Spearville, the son of William Chauncey and Julia M. (Hayden) Burke.
Floyd E. Ward, 69, died Aug. 25 at University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. He was born Feb. 14, 1945 at Pueblo, Colo., the son of Ila Ward.
Lawrence Stanley Schneider, 89, died Sept. 2, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born Jan. 28, 1925, in Barton County, he was the son of Louis John William and Agnes Pauline (Page) Schneider. On Aug. 11, 1945, he married Daisy Pauline McDonald in Couer d'Alene, Idaho. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was a farmer and stockman.
RUSSELL - Norma Jean (Boxberger) Schwien, 81, of rural Russell, passed away Aug. 27, at her residence. Born Nov. 24, 1932, at the family home in northeast Ellis County, she was the daughter of Edward and Pauline (Mai) Boxberger. She grew up in the Ellis County area and attended the Pleasant Dale School District #99. She later obtained her G.E.D. On Jan. 7, 1951, she was united in marriage to Leonard Larry Schwien in Russell. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 2007. She was a homemaker.
BELLA VISTA, Ark. - Curtis E. Lohrding, 81, died Aug. 30, at his home following several months of illness. He was born Dec. 8, 1932, in Coldwater, to Raymond and Laura Lohrding. Curtis was a graduate of Coldwater High School and received his bachelor's degree and master's degree in Science at Kansas State University, with four years ROTC and entered the Air Force as 2nd Lieutenant in July 7, 1955, where he became a jet pilot for three years. CHASE – Margery A. Rondeau, 83, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Center in Lyons. Born Nov. 30, 1930, in Minneapolis, Minn., she was the daughter of Max and Agnes Engelbert. She married Richard F. Rondeau Aug. 21, 1948, at Minneapolis. He survives. She was a resident of Chase since 1999, having lived in Belpre and San Diego.
Ruth Lorene Ward, 91, died Aug. 30 at Golden Plains Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born July 15, 1923 at Brownell, the daughter of Jesse Dailey and Sarah Eliza (Rankin) Weathers. Ruth married Floyd Cecil Ward March 13, 1940 at Hutchinson. He died Jan. 2, 1996. She was homemaker and worked in the kitchen at USD 428 and St. Rose Hospital

UTICA - Patricia Ann (Hill) Stutz, 81, passed away Aug. 27, at her home near Utica, after a short illness. Born June 11, 1933, in Carthage, Mo., she was the daughter of Lee C. and Nellie P. (Berkebile) Hill. She grew up and attended school in Carthage, Mo. After graduation from Carthage High School in 1951, she worked at Big Smith (jeans) Company in Carthage, Mo., and volunteered with USO entertainers at Camp Crowder Army Base near Neosho, Mo. Gloria A. Janatello, 87, died Aug. 29, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Sept. 12, 1926, in Ellinwood, she was the daughter of Domingo and Ruth (Barth) Scotti. On Dec. 25, 1943, she married Peter Janatello in Great Bend. He died on Feb. 27, 2008. She was a lifetime resident of Great Bend and Barton County.
