He married CArla Scheuerman on June 12, 1993, at Great Bend. He worked for Mid States Supply, McPherson, as a warehouse foreman. He was a McPherson resident for seven years, coming from Great Bend.
PAWNEE ROCK - Shirley L. Arnel, 70, of Pawnee Rock, died Oct. 13 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born Shirley L. Gabbert on Nov. 6, 1939, in Waco, Texas.
GLENMORA, La. - Champion Ray "Butch" McNett, 40, formerly of Great Bend, entered eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 24, at his Glenmora, La., residence. He was born June 17, 1970, in Salina, to the unionof Champion Fredrick McNett and Marie Alice McNett. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, coach and friend. He was one of the biggest Dallas Cowboys football fans. He loved coaching his sons in football and baseball. He also loved hunting, fishing, and car racing, and was a drummer at heart.
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - William Harold Clark Sr., 86, passed away on Oct. 30 at Providence Medical Center. Born May 10, 1924, in Kansas City, he was the son of William R. and Lucy (Holmes) Clark. ELLSWORTH - Carmen R. Munguia, 89, died Oct. 31 at Ellsworth County Medical Center, Ellsworth. She was born Oct. 8, 1921, at El Paso, Texas, the daughter of Edurado and Refugio (Jimeniz) Rousett. She married Ramon Munguia on May 1, 1948, at El Paso, Texas. He died June 1, 2008. A homemaker, she was an Ellsworth resident for the past seven years, coming from Lorraine.
GREENWOOD, Ark. - Jerry L. Hedrick, 73, of Greenwood, Ark., went home to be with his Lord, Oct. 29 in a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital. He was born May 17, 1937, in Coffeyville, and was a businessman and truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and feeding local wildlife.

He was born May 25, 1934, in Plainville, Kan., to Chalmer and Ann (Cerrow) Mayhew. He married Beverly (Collis) Mayhew on April 20, 1957 in El Paso, Texas. Norma M. Vasquez, 70, of Great Bend, died Oct. 27 at her home. She was born April 17, 1940, at Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Victorio and Manuela (Alonzo) Moreno. Norma worked as a seamstress. Mrs. Vasquez was a Great Bend resident since 1999, coming from Ontario, Calif.
OSAWATOMIE - Donald D. Smith, 85, died Oct. 29 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe. He was born Sept. 16, 1925, at Hoisington, the son of Clarence and Callie (Payne) Smith. He married Etta Imogene Lumley on June 5, 1953, at Bartlesville, Okla. She died Oct. 9, 2004. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Kansas Brick and Tile of Hoisington. He was a former Hoisington resident, moving to Osawatomie in 2004.

DODGE CITY - Carol Jeanie (Kennedy) Blazek, 64, died Monday, October 20, 2014 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. She was born June 4, 1950 at Russell, the daughter of Gerald L. and Catherine (Nault) Kennedy. A Dodge City resident for the past 40 years, moving from Hoisington, she worked at Sonic Drive In and Wardrobe Cleaners, both in Dodge City, retiring in 2012. She enjoyed crocheting and making poppies for the Veterans.

Mary Lea Wade, 85, died Oct. 21, at Cherry Village Nursing Home in Great Bend. Born Aug. 14, 1929, in Prague, Okla., she was the daughter of Alvin and Pearl (Stiffler) Montgomery. On Oct. 14, 1951, she married Lee Wade in Great Bend. He died on April 9, 1988. A resident of Great Bend since 1946, coming from Prague, Okla., she was a secretary for Kopke Law Office and Haneke Financial Services.
RUSSELL - Gerald Dean Bender, 72, passed away on Oct. 19, at Russell Regional Hospital. Born Jan. 23, 1942, in Russell, he was the son of Herbert H. and Viola E. (Mai) Bender. He grew up and attended schools in the Milberger area. He was employed by the City of Russell in the refuse department for 20 years, retiring in 1999.
CLINTON, Iowa - Gerald V. Galusha, 91, of Clinton, Iowa, died Sunday Oct. 19, at his home. Gerald was born on Aug. 16, 1923, in Garden Plaines, Ill., the son of James and Louise (Gerhardt) Galusha. He graduated from Erie High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945, with the 90th Infantry Division under General Patton. He was wounded on Jan. 16, 1945, at the Battle of the Bulge, when he received severe head injuries from mortar shell shrapnel.
Jack Daubert, 61, died Oct. 19 at Hutchinson Regional Hospital. Born in Great Bend, on April 9, 1953, he was the son of Herman and Wanda (Riemann) Daubert. He graduated from Great Bend High School in 1972. Jack worked as a Certified Medical Assistant at "The Cedars" retirement community in McPherson. He was a longtime resident of Great Bend.
Kathy L. Kaiser, 65, passed away Oct. 19, at her home. Born Aug. 10, 1949, in Hopeton, Okla., she was the daughter of Glenn S. and Artie R. (Elliott) Jones. A resident of Great Bend since 1977, she worked 23 years for USD #428 in Food Service. On July 30, 1977, she married Paul Kaiser in Great Bend. He survives of the home.
James C. Burnette, 77, died Oct. 20 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born June 6, 1937 at Salina, he was the son of Cecil Marion and Stella M. (Lackey) Burnette.

She was born on Sept. 20, 1926, in Hoisington, to Duke and Opal (Sypolt) Van Brimmer. Karen was a 1944 graduate of Hoisington High School and attended Wichita State University for two years. Karen and William Kirkpatrick were married on May 7, 1948, in Hoisington. She then taught school at a rural school near Great Bend from 1949-1950. LARNED - Dale Otte, 76, passed away Oct. 17, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Born Jan. 4, 1938, in Great Bend, he was the son of Wilmer and Leah Dorfshaffer Otte. A longtime area resident he was a farmer/stockman. On Sept. 16, 1956, he married Karen Rice in Great Bend. She survives.
