Rossie Mae Lauber, 71, died Oct. 1 at her home in Great Bend. Born May 23, 1942 in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Eugene Debbs and Okla Marie (Dixon) Addington. In 1961, she married Lawrence Fredrick Rowe in Miami, Okla. They later divorced. She then married Virgil Lewis in 1971 in Great Bend. They later divorced. She then married Wilfred Patrick Lauber Sr. on Aug. 24, 1979 in Great Bend. He died on March 11, 2005. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, she was a homecare worker for the State of Kansas.

DEERFIELD, Mo. - Neva Bunn-Hite, age 92, resident of rural Deerfield, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at her home. She was born Feb. 22, 1921 in Montevalleo, Mo. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1939 and attended Fort Scott Junior College until 1940. At the age of 19, she began teaching at Moore School in Moundville School District in a one room school with 29 students. She also taught at Hackberry School for three years. She married Charles Waknitz Dec. 27, 1966, at Wichita. A retired 30-year school teacher, she had been a Great Bend resident since 1976, coming from Kinsley.
