Maurice Doolen "Dooley" Edman, 85, died March 29 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born Feb. 20, 1926 in Great Bend, he was the son of Maurice J. and Martha Lois (Doolen) Edman. He graduated from Great Bend High School and attended the University of Washington in Seattle Wash., majoring in Civil Engineering. A Great Bend resident since 1956, coming from McPherson, he worked for Evans-Rondeau engineering firm, Hallibutron Oil Well Cementing Company and was the Barton County Engineer for 36 years. He was born Jan. 30, 1932, in Collyer, the son of Reinholdt "Ray" and Mary (Windholz) Wintholz. He attended school in Collyer and graduated from the Hays Cadets Academy in 1950.
