William, J. Flory, 92, passed away Friday at the Victoria Falls Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Andover. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Highland Cemetery of Medicine Lodge.
Ethel Marie Dyer, 96, of Great Bend, passed away on Thursday morning, Oct. 20, at the Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in Great Bend. Ethel was born on Jan. 5, 1915 in Russell, to Emanuel and Elizabeth Milberger. She was a graduate of Russell High School. She was the clerk of the District Court for Barton County for many years, and later worked for Morrison Insurance Agency in Great Bend. She loved animals, particularly dogs.
Alberta G. Delgado, 87, died on Oct. 20 at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita. She was born April 23, 1924 at Hoisington, the daughter of Vincent and Alejandra (Gonsalez) Gutierrez.

OLMITZ - Christine Marie Lichter, 88, died Oct. 18, 2011 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Nov. 30, 1922 in Great Bend, the daughter of Albert J. and Frances J. (Rabenseifner) Mauler.
Sandra Sue "Sandy" Essmiller, 66, died Oct. 12 at Huntington Memorial Hospital, Pasadena, Calif. She was born Jan. 13, 1945 at Great Bend, the daughter of Lester Arnold and Clara LaVergne (Hanhardt) Hagerman.
ST. JOHN - Keith D. Bieberle, 60, died Oct. 17 in Langdon. Services are pending with Minnis Chapel in St. John.
ALDEN - Ronald C. Langel, 71, died Oct. 15, 2011, at Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson. Born May 21, 1940, at Sterling, he was the son of Charles Yates and Carolyn Berblinger Langel. He was a 1958 graduate of Alden High School. On Aug. 4, 1961, he married Carol Harrison at Alden. A lifetime resident of Alden, he was a farmer and stockman.
LARNED - Doris M. Clutter, 93, died Oct. 14, 2011, at Midland Hospice in Topeka. Born Feb. 6 1918, at Radium, she was the daughter of Lotus and Ethyl Cromer Zink. She was a longtime Larned resident. During World War II she worked at Boeing for two and a half years and saw the first B-29 come off the line and fly. In subsequent years she worked as bookkeeper at Clutter Electric and then moved to Credit Manager for the Pawnee County Co-op. On Dec. 24, 1939 she married Arthur E. Clutter in Larned. He died Nov. 1, 1997.
TULSA, OKLA. - Gwen Elizabeth Dailey Bible died Oct. 17 on her 87th birthday, at Tulsa, Okla. She was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Great Bend.
FORT SMITH, Ark. - Iva Mae Smith passed from this life at age 74 on Oct. 15. She was born May 16, 1937, near Rush Center, to Calvin and Elma Kershner. She was a beautician and owned and operated her own salon for 20 years.
OTIS - Maxine Elizabeth Scheuerman, 88, died Oct. 15, 2011, at Rush County Memorial Hospital-Long Term Care Unit in La Crosse. Born Feb. 24, 1923, at Beaver, she was the daughter of Peter E. and Alice Mae (Stoskopf) Bergman. Maxine attended Galatia Grade School and graduated from Hoisington High School. She then attended Fort Hays State University. She taught at country schools in Barton and Rush County and later became a certified nurse's aide. On March 21, 1943, she married Aaron Scheuerman at Otis. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2010.
GREAT BEND - A.D. Belt, 81, of Great Bend, formerly of El Dorado, passed away on Oct. 13, 2011 in Great Bend.
LYONS - Joseph L. Cedeno, 83, died Oct. 13, 2011 at Rice County District Hospital.
Lenora Marie Ochs, 97, died Feb. 25 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born July 21, 1916, in rural Otis, she was the daughter of Fred and Julia (Schlegel) Stieben. On Oct. 6, 1935 she married Clarence Everett Ochs in Otis. He died on May 7, 1994. A Great Bend resident since 1978, coming from Otis, she was a part-owner, bookkeeper and parts lady at Ochs, Inc., until retirement.
LARNED - Ellen Nadine Bittner, 81, died Feb. 23, 2014 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. She was born Oct. 22, 1932, at Alton, Missouri, the daughter of Claude and Esther Barton Strain. A resident of the Great Bend formerly of Larned, she was a retired nurses aide at Gleason Hospital in Larned. She was of the Christian faith.
