He was an Air Force Vietnam Veteran and worked for R & A Auto Electric and WPM Pathology Lab and was a member and elder of Belmont Blvd. Christian Church. NEWTON - Virginia S. Shawver 78, died Feb. 17, at Bethesda Home in Goessel. Born May 21, 1932 in Larned, she was the Claude and Evelyn (Unruh) Wyman. On Oct. 11, 1953 she married Leslie Shawver in Larned. He preceded her in death. She enjoyed sewing and cross stitching. Virginia also enjoyed antique furniture restoration. Her family was important to her and she greatly looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends.

RAYMOND - Otis Blackburn, 87, died Feb. 12 at Raymond. Born Aug. 31, 1923 in Cushing, Okla., he was the son of Thomas Jefferson and Willie Mae Lowe Blackburn. A resident of Raymond most of his life, he was a retired truck driver and mechanic. On May 16, 1941, he married Altus Higgins in Pawnee, Okla. In 1964 he married Jenny Melton.
