Kathryn Elaine Kimbrough, 54, of Great Bend, died Dec. 6 at her home. She was born Oct. 24, 1956, at Syracuse, the daughter of Loren and Peggy (Johnson) Thompson. She married Ronald Kimbrough on April 3, 1973, in Syracuse. She was a Kansas native with ties to California.
CLAFLIN - Martina M. Luebbers, 92, died Dec. 5 at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita. Born March 17, 1918, at Marienthal, she was the daughter of Martin and Anna (Lauber)Younger. She married Joseph Luebbers on May 3, 1949, at Hoisington. He died March 15, 1977. A longtime Claflin resident, coming from Hoisington, she was a homemaker and the Claflin librarian from 1971 to 1988.
PRATT - Basil L. "Bud" McManaman, 88, died Dec. 6 at South Wind Hospice in Pratt. He was born June 10, 1922, in Pratt, to Basil and Iva (Greenstreet) McManaman. He married Margaret Lou Patton in 1945, and a daughter, Candy was born to this union. She preceded him in death in 1948. He married Pauline Lawrenz on May 26, 1954, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pratt. She survives.
RAYMOND – Gladys G. Boy Starr, 82, died Dec. 5 at her Raymond residence. She was born Dec. 18, 1927, at Raymond, the daughter of Adolph and Nora Marie Gordon Boy. She married H. Allison Starr Dec. 20, 1946, at Colby. He died July 3, 1981. She was a lifetime Raymond resident and a homemaker. She graduated from Raymond High School and attended Kansas State University.

Helen Marie Weese, 80, died Dec. 3, 2010 at her Great Bend, Kansas, home. She was born June 2, 1930, at Pratt, the daughter of Lee and Mabel (Kilgore) Miller. She Married Calvin Levi Weese Oct. 24, 1948 at Pratt. He died Oct. 22, 2002. A Great Bend resident since 1955 coming from Pratt. Mrs. Weese was a Certified Medical Aide for 32 years at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Great Bend.

ROCKPORT, Texas - Ralph Marion Winkelman, 94, died on May 9. He was born on Feb. 27, 1919. In 1938, he graduated from Chase High School. He entered the United States Army during World War II and served with the 13th Airborne Division in France, Belgium, Ireland and Scotland. After the war he worked for Kaw Pipeline in Kansas and in 1963, transferred to Houston and worked for the pipeline division of Texaco.

WICHITA - Christine M. Suchy, 93, died May 9th. A former resident of Great Bend, she was a retired Assistant Manager for Payless Shoes. Christine was an avid gardener and crafter. Her true love was Iris. In 2006 she had an Iris introduced in her honor. Her tenacity for getting through any struggle was her finest quality.
