Helen Marie Weese, 80, died Dec. 3, 2010 at her Great Bend, Kansas, home. She was born June 2, 1930, at Pratt, the daughter of Lee and Mabel (Kilgore) Miller. She Married Calvin Levi Weese Oct. 24, 1948 at Pratt. He died Oct. 22, 2002. A Great Bend resident since 1955 coming from Pratt. Mrs. Weese was a Certified Medical Aide for 32 years at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Great Bend.

Cora Hause, 66, died Nov. 28 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. She was born April 1, 1944, at Belfast, Ireland, the daughter of John and Sadie (Craig) Jennix. She married Floyd Elmer Bowman on June 4, 1971, at Wintergreen, Calif. He died Jan. 29, 1998. She married Clyde Hause in 2005 at Great Bend. A Great Bend resident since 1974, coming from Missouri, she worked for Fuller Brush and Great Bend Packing.
LARNED - Blanche Mary Fern Courtney, 94, died Nov. 28 at her daughter's home in Sumter, S.C. She was born Dec. 20, 1915, in Franklin County, the youngest child of Charles and Clara Curtis Adams. A former resident of Larned, moving from Gove in 1956, she retired in 1978 from Larned State Hospital where she was a psychiatric aide. She completed a year of college at Emporia State Teachers College and then taught school in western Kansas.
Orval Otte, 97, died Nov. 30 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. Born Sept. 13, 1913, at Great Bend, he was the son of W.C. and Georgia Mae (Miller) Otte. He married Helen Genevieve Taylor on Aug. 16, 1936, at Great Bend. She died April 17, 1970. He married Edra Mae (Brown) Hudnall on Oct. 29, 1971, at Great Bend. She died Sept. 8, 2007. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was a farmer and stockman.

BELPRE - Helen R. Berscheidt, 94, died April 19, at the Halstead Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Nov. 22, 1918, she was the daughter of Matt and Martha Heinke Maes. On Feb. 4, 1941 she married John N. Berscheidt in Claflin. He passed away in 1974. A lifetime area resident she was a farmwife and an occupational therapist for the Larned State Hospital for 25 years.
