MALVERN Ark. - Agatha M. (Esfeld) Cuzick Reeves, 91, died Dec. 29 at The Crossing in Malvern, Ark. She was born March 9, 1919, at Great Bend, the daughter of Fred, Sr. and Frances (Monger) Esfeld. Gordon L. Young, 69, died Dec. 28 at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend. He was born March 12, 1941, at Pratt, the son of LeRoy Franklin and Phylotis Iona (Chance) Young. He married Donna Jean McGrath on March 12, 1961, at Sun City. A Great Bend resident since 1966, coming from Pratt, he was a salesman for Log-Tech Inc.
TOPEKA - Donald R. Haberman, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Dec. 27. Don was born on May 14, 1944, in Great Bend, the son of Alex and Augusta (Koriel) Haberman. He graduated from Great Bend High School in 1962, from Fort Hays State University with his bachelor's degree in 1966 and with his master's degree in industrial arts in 1969. Don was united in holy matrimony to Rosanne Horning on July 18, 1970, in Ransom.
RUSSELL - Gerald E. "Jerry" Boomhower, 76, of rural Russell, died Dec. 27 at the Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. Jerry was born April 21, 1934, in Hoisington, the son of Glenn and Florence (Goodheart) Boomhower. LARNED - Ruby Carolina McKenna, 95, died Dec. 24 at South Wind Hospice, Pratt. She was born Nov. 13, 1915, in Fargo, Okla., the daughter of Robert and Adelia Buckbee McKenna. A resident of Larned since 1991, previously of Woodward, Okla., she was a homemaker.
ELLINWOOD – Lila L. Young, 84, died Dec. 25 at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. She was born March 16, 1926, at Vader, Wash., the daughter of Douglas H. and Alline Eaton Towers. She married Charles Norman Young Sept. 14, 1947, at Milton-Freewater, Ore. He died Dec. 29, 2000. A resident of Woodhaven, she was a retailer and homemaker.
LARNED - Anna Belle Owens, 73, died Dec. 23 at Hays Medical Center in Hays. She was born May 17, 1937, in Shattuck, Okla. A resident of Larned since 1970, formerly of Woodward, Okla., she was a retired Food Service Supervisor 1 at the Larned State Hospital.
CLAFLIN - Menta A. Hofmeister, 88, died Dec. 20 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born July 7, 1922, at Mount Pleasant, Iowa, she was the daughter of Charles and Virginia (Reynolds) Eahart. On Oct. 12, 1947, she married Elmer Hofmeister in Parsons. He died Feb. 11, 2005. A long-time Claflin resident, she was an elementary teacher and a homemaker.
SCOTTSBLUFF, NEB. - Esther Fehrenbach, 90, of Scottsbluff, Neb. died Dec. 18 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Esther was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Ramona, to Roy and Hattie (Brumfield) Kellogg. She received her education in Hodgeman County and graduated from Hodgeman County High School. She married her husband, Paul A. Fehrenbach on Feb. 16, 1941. To this union two daughters were born, Gerry M. and Nancy E.
Richard Morgan Edwards, 80, of Great Bend, died Dec. 8 at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend. He was born Oct. 30, 1930, at Spring City, Pa., the son of Morgan and Margaret Edwards. He married Marilyn Spruill Standish on Feb. 14, 1975, at Reno, Nev. A Great Bend resident since 1972, coming from Kentucky, he was an engineer for O'Neill Tank.

Jane Anne (Fisher) Engleman, 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Lawrence, June 6, 2013. She was born Sept. 17, 1920 in Wichita Falls, Texas, daughter of William L. and Valeria Belle (Astin) Fisher. She married the love of her life, Dale Engleman on Nov. 21, 1944 in Wichita Falls, Texas. MINNESOTT BEACH, N.C. - Judy Mershon Huber Wolfenbarger, 77, of Minnesott Beach, N.C., passed away June 4. Born in Chicago, Ill., on Nov. 4, 1935, she was the daughter of Andrew B. and Dorothy Mershon Huber. Her family moved to Mt. Carroll, Ill., in 1942. An accomplished pianist, guitar player and percussionist for Mt. Carroll High School, music was an important part of her life. Her quick wit and love of ironic humor lasted throughout her lifetime.
