WICHITA - Constance Loree Withers Harmon went to join the Lord on April 28. Constance "Connie" Withers, born May 10 1932, was happily married to LC Harmon on Nov. 22, 1950, in Pratt, and they enjoyed an active life together for 61 years. Her loving husband, LC passed away on March 21, 2012 in Sun Lakes, Ariz.
NOWATA, Okla. - Barbara Ruth Warren, 72, of Nowata, Okla., passed from this life on April 26, in Tulsa, Okla. She was born July 3, 1941, in Wichita, to Shirley Ray Close and Ruth Irene (Brown) Close. She graduated from high school in Hutchinson and continued her education for the remainder of her life earning several degrees. On Dec. 13, 1974, she married Glenn Arle Dean Warren in Independence, and in 1997 they moved to Nowata, Okla. from Great Bend. Barbara enjoyed painting, studying her genealogy, and doing crafts. Barbara will be missed by all who knew her.
NOWATA, Okla. - Glenn Arle Dean Warren, 74, of Nowata, Okla., passed away on April 25. He was born on March 9, 1940, in Arkansas, to James Arle Warren and Ida Dean (Smith) Warren. He attended high school in Hutchinson. On Dec. 13, 1974, he married Barbara Ruth Hicks in Independence. They moved to Nowata in 1997. NESS CITY - Wanita Marie Munsch Meis Reinert, 88, passed away on April 26, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born on Sept. 3, 1925, in Bazine, she was the daughter of Henry and Catherine Depperschmidt Munsch. She was a homemaker and long time resident of Ness City, Kansas.
Wendell M. Doonan, 91, died April 27, at Eckstein Center - Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Great Bend, the son of Clarence Cecil and Florence Roberta (Bowyer) Doonan. On Jan. 31, 1944, he married Wanda Lee Wolf in Hoisington. She died Oct. 19, 1980. He then married Mary Jane (Stricker) Reich on March 12, 1983, in Great Bend.
GARFIELD - John M. Olson, 92, passed away April 25 at his home in Garfield. He was born June 11, 1921, in Garfield, the son of John and Minnie Lundblade Olson. A lifetime Garfield resident, he was in partnership with his father at the Olson and Olson Blacksmith and Machine Shop. He retired as a power plant operator at Larned State Hospital.
VENTURA, IOWA -Dr. Norman Max Held, 87, of Ventura, Iowa, died March 22 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa. He was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Great Bend, the son of Leonard Henry and Verna Viola (Lupardis) Held. Following high school he attended Kansas State College obtaining a degree in Agriculture and pledged Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a first lieutenant as adjutant and served in Denver, Colo., at Lowry Air Force Base and TDY at Chamfer, Ga., during the Korean War. ELLINWOOD - Harold (Doc) Stone, 92, died April 25 at his home in Ellinwood. Doc was born Feb. 19, 1922, in Cedar Vale, to Joseph and Georgia (Thompson) Stone. He married Mary Lois Malone on June 22, 1953, in Ellinwood. He served during World War II as a Captain in the 7th Station Hospital as a dental officer. Doc was a 65-year-resident of Ellinwood, where he ran his own dental practice from 1949 up until his retirement in 1988.
HUTCHINSON - Robert G. "Bob" Kuhn, 73, died April 26, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. Born Dec. 14, 1940, in Hutchinson, he was the son of William and Etta King Kuhn. He was a graduate of Hutchinson High School and received his associates degree from Hutchinson Community College. On Nov. 25, 1961, he married Cheryl Harris in Hutchinson. She survivies. He had been a certified licensed land surveyor for several years and he also worked for KDOT for 45 years, retiring in 2005. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, and his family.
