HESSTON - Thebe Jahay, 89, passed away Oct. 5 at Schowalter Villa, Hesston. She was born Nov. 13, 1920, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the daughter of Daniel and Fatima Adul Hamway. She worked at Hesston Child Care for 15 years.

ELLINWOOD - John Calvin Voth, 83, died Sept. 30 at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend. Born Nov. 11, 1926, in Ellinwood, he was the son of J. Milo and Esther Schermuly Voth. A lifetime resident of Ellinwood, he was self-employed as an upholsterer and shoe repairman in Ellinwood. On July 17, 1946, he married Eileen Ecker in Marion.
PRATT - Timothy Wayne Mix, 44, died Oct. 1 at his home in Pratt. He was born Oct. 28, 1965, in Kinsley, the son of Larry and Carolyn Thomas Mix. He was a 1984 graduate of St. John High School and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Schenectady stationed in San Diego, Calif. More recently he was head cook for Great Western Dining at Pratt Community College.
HAYS - John A. Pfannenstiel, 63, of Hays, passed away Wednesday, the result of an automobile accident. He was born on January 6, 1947 in Hays to Alois and Domitilla (Befort) Pfannenstiel. He married Rose Ann Rome on November 26, 1971 at St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Victoria.
Tim Frost, 37, died Wednesday at home in Great Bend. He was born June 16, 1973 at Boone, Iowa the son of Richard and Vicki (O'Hern) Frost.

Judy Ann Barlow, 58, died Tuesday at Salina Regional Health Center. She was born April 22, 1952, the daughter of Marvin Benjerman and Evelyn (Koelsch) Clawson. She was a life long resident of Great Bend. She married Robert Barlow April 15, 1970 in Great Bend.
HANSTON – Dennis R. Jones, 67, died Sept. 27 at Hays Medical Center. Born Jan. 3, 1943 at Spearville, the son of Bert and Bertha Smith Jones. A lifetime area resident, he was a lineman for Midwest Energy at Hanston, and he was also a farmer. Dennis was a loving father and grandfather.
GLENMORA, LA. - Butch McNett, 40, of Glenmora, La., entered eternal rest on Sept. 24, 2010 in his residence. He was born on June 17, 1970 in Salina, to the union of Champion Fredrick McNett and Marie Alice McNett. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, coach and friend. He was one of the biggest Dallas Cowboys Football fan. He loved coaching his sons in football and baseball. He also loved hunting, fishing, car racing, and was a drummer at heart.

On May 24, 1929, she married Clifford Snider at Ness City. Clifford preceded her in death in 1980. Gerald D. Krug, 68, of Great Bend, died Sept. 27 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned. He was born Feb. 27, 1942, at Great Bend, the son of Edward and Helen V. (Brack) Krug. He married Marlies Pütz on April 13, 1968, at Memphis, Ark. A lifetime Barton County resident, he was owner and operator of E&E Glass and Gifts, Great Bend.
BROWNWOOD, Texas - On Sept. 26 at 12:56 p.m., Bryan S. Lange was serenaded by angels from Hendricks Hospital in Abilene, Texas, to his heavenly home at the age of 35. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at First Baptist Church, Junction, Texas. On April 18, 1958 he married Thelma Beebe in Norwalk, Calif. A long time resident of Great Bend, he was most recently employed as a regional manager for Super 8 Motels.
BELPRE - Helen R. Berscheidt, 94, died April 19, at the Halstead Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Nov. 22, 1918, she was the daughter of Matt and Martha Heinke Maes. On Feb. 4, 1941 she married John N. Berscheidt in Claflin. He passed away in 1974. A lifetime area resident she was a farmwife and an occupational therapist for the Larned State Hospital for 25 years.
