KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Donald Keith Lowry proclaimed that he had lived the best life ever lived! He always maintained that his death would be much more sacred than his birth. Born Oct. 25th, 1928, Donald was the youngest of seven children of Homer and Verna Lowry and last decedent. Don achieved heavenly glory on Sept. 17, 2013. The Lowry family is reunited and restored!
Jennie Frances Ueckert, 89, died Sept. 19 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood. She was born Aug. 3, 1924, at Stafford, to Louis and Frances (Krkosska) Reiser. She married Paul M. Ueckert April 21, 1945, at Ellinwood. He died July 16, 1995. A lifetime Great Bend resident, she was a homemaker.
OGALLAH - Richard D. "Bandit" Owen, 67, died Sept. 14, at his home. Born Feb. 24, 1946, in Monahans, Texas, he was the son of William Thomas and Catherine (McNett) Owen. On June 23, 1973, he married Beverly Combs, in Conroe, Texas. She passed away April 1, 2008. On Aug. 15, 2009, Richard married Clarese Mong, in Ogallah. She survives. Richard was a welder and truck driver.
OFFERLE - Dennis Dean Herrman, 50, died Saturday, September 14, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Born Nov. 16, 1962 in Great Bend, he was the son of Georgiana Herrman and the late Francis A. Herrman.
ARANSAS PASS, Texas - Opal Georgia McCutchan, 94, died Sept. 14th. Born on March 14, 1919 in Minneapolis, she was the daughter of Roy Bryne Messex and Grace Travis Messex. She was a resident of the area since 1957.
KANSAS CITY, MO - Michelle Annette Starkey passed away on Sept. 1, 2013, and is now home with our Lord. She was brought into the world by Hilda Starkey on Sept. 30, 1968. Michelle grew up in the small town of Ellinwood, and graduated in 1986 from EHS. She was currently in the Nursing Program at Brown Mackie College. She resided in Kansas City, Mo.
WICHITA - Judith Ann Hiss, was born on Sept. 22, 1944, in Louisville, Kent., and passed away on Sept. 11 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was the daughter of Warren G. and Lina M. (Higdon) Pitts, and was preceded in death by them.
KANSAS CITY, MO - Patricia L. Pierson, 62, died Sept 12 at her sister's home, Bel Aire. Born Jan. 3, 1951 at Lawrence, she was the daughter of Robert L. and Frances R. (Mills) Fanshier. On Dec. 14, 1974, she married Richard Pierson at Kansas City, Kans. They later divorced. She was a computer programmer for many years prior to starting her own company, Imaginative Designs. Mrs. Pierson was a Kansas City, Mo., resident since 1973 coming from Stafford County.
