Cleo May Barton died April 22 at her home in Great Bend. Born in Moscow, Kan., she was the daughter of Roy A. and Bessie E. (Stevens) May. She married C. E. "Clem" Barton on Feb. 14, 1941, at Cimarron. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage. He died Dec. 9, 2002. A Great Bend resident since 1951, coming from Dodge City, she was a homemaker.
WICHITA - Beatrice "Bea" Bissing, 98, entered eternal life on April 20, 2011. She passed away in Denver, Colo., where she has been living since 2001.
Charles Leroy Buehler, 84, died April 21 at Kansas Medical Center, Andover. He was born July 7, 1926, at Claflin, the son of Charles Rudolph and Josephine Martha (Kooci) Buehler. He married Virginia Ruth Folck on Feb. 1, 1946, at Lyons. He was a Great Bend resident and served during World War II in the U.S. Navy.
LeRoy Eugene Smiley, 66, died Feb. 9 at Boulder, Colo. Born Aug. 7, 1944, in Great Bend, he was the son of Gerald and Winona Smiley.

WINFIELD - David C. (Dave) Warren, 84, died April 18. Born April 21, 1926 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he was the son of Merb and Mabel (Crosen) Warren. In 1944, he graduated from McKinley High School and attended Coe College, both in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1951, he graduated from Southwestern College in Winfield. BUSHTON - Joseph W. Porter, 85, died April 18 at the Rice County District Hospital in Lyons. He was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Keota Okla., the son of Charles and Olvia Gray Porter. On Sept. 30, 1947, he married Norma Louis on Sept. 30, 1947. A resident of Bushton since 1991, formerly of Tulsa, Okla., he grew up in McCurtain, Okla. He was an oilfield worker and a barber.

BUSHTON - Orland Lee Schulz, 84, died April 18 at Hospice House in Hutchinson. He was born July 27, 1926, in rural Bushton, the son of John and Myrtle Beneke Schulz. A lifetime resident of the Bushton area, he graduated from Bushton High School. On May 5, 1949, he married Gloria Chesnut at Wichita Falls, Texas. She died on Feb. 2, 1985. He was employed by NCRA for 22 years, and was a lifetime farmer.

BELLA VISTA, Ark. - Maxine Wyatt, 86, passed away on March 29, at Highlands Health Care in Bella Vista. She was born June 14, 1927 to George and Margaret McCoy in Norton. She graduated from Norton High School and went to work for Southwest Bell Telephone Company. In 1947, she married Ray Wyatt. In 1953, they moved to Great Bend. She worked at American State Bank for 36 years and retired. She did volunteer work at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend, and Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick's Church. Noemi R. "Mimi" Sanchez, 59, passed away on Friday evening at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Born on June 22, 1954 in McAllen, Texas, she was the daughter of Pedro and Teresa (Rosales) Ramos. On March 8, 1980, she was united in marriage to Israel "Lalo" Sanchez in McAllen, Texas. The couple came to Great Bend in October of 1986. Noemi enjoyed cooking and playing Bingo, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
