RUSSELL - Martha Eichman, 91, of Russell, died Nov. 7 at the Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell. She was born on July 6, 1919, in rural Hoisington, the daughter of Peter Schneider, Sr. and Lydia (Bender) Schneider. She grew up in the Hoisington area and attended country schools. She met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Theodore Eichman on March 27, 1938, in Barton County. NEWTON - William "Bill" Alexander, 59, died Nov. 7 at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita. He was born May 24, 1951, in Denver, Colo. He graduated from Mound City High School and went on to complete two years at Fort Scott Junior college. He served three years with the United States Navy. Following that, he wisely used the G.I. Bill to further his education and attended Wichita State University and achieved his bachelor's degree, followed by his Physician's Assistant Degree. On Aug. 14, 2006, he married Tamera J. Clark in Newton.
KELLER, Texas - Berneice Rachel Hillman, 85, passed away Nov. 2. She was born Berneice Rachel Nuss in Susank on Sept. 3, 1925. On Oct. 2, 1943, she married Frank Guy Hillman.
ELLINWOOD - Dolores Keenan Bryant, 82, died Nov. 5 at Overland Park. She w as born Sept. 5, 1928, at Great Bend, the third child and second daughter of a family of eight children born to Thomas and Martha Sheils Keenan. She married Lloyd W. Bryant on Nov. 24, 1949, at Seward. He died July 12, 2006. She was a longtime Ellinwood resident and owner of Bryant TV & Radio in Ellinwood for 40 years. She later owned and operated Riverside Petroleum for the next 20 years. She graduated from Meade High School.

PRATT – Paul G. Epp, 81, of Pratt went quietly from this earth to his eternal peace on Nov. 4. Born on Aug. 14, 1929, in Murdock, he was the son of Paul R. and Dorothy Epp. He married Marian Jenkins on Nov. 28, 1953.
OLATHE - Brian J. Yanda, 33, of Olathe, passed away Tuesday evening in a traffic accident. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W. 143rd St., Olathe, KS 66062-2099. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Private burial will follow in Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens. HUMBOLDT - Marcell B. (Bernard) Tinkler, 88, of Humboldt, passed away Nov. 3, at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute. Bernard was born at Gypsum on Dec. 12, 1921, the son of Irl N. and Maudie M. (Mounkes) Tinkler. He served as an airborn radio operator/navigator during World War II from 1942 through 1945. He was united in marriage to Anna Mae Nickey on Dec. 27, 1942. She survives, of the home.
James L. "Jim" Morton, 64, died Nov. 3 at his home in Great Bend. Born May 4, 1946, in Great Bend, he was the son of Loyd and Violet (Smith) Morton. On Aug. 28, 1970, he married Karen Collier in Great Bend. A resident of Great Bend since 1973, coming from Seward, he was a district manager for Halliburton for 25 years and production superintendent for Hartman Oil Company until his retirement in 2009.
HOISINGTON - Wilma Imojean Fritz, 82, died Nov. 3 at her home in Hoisington. Born Feb. 12, 1928, she was the daughter of Harrison and Mollie (Proksch) Clift). On Aug. 28, 1947, she married Kenneth L. Fritz in Hoisington. He died Feb. 21, 2010. She was a co-owner with her husband of Fritz's Bait Shop.
LOVELAND, Colo. - Alvin R. Moeller was born Jan. 27, 1927, on a farm near Preston and passed from this life on Nov. 2 at his home in Loveland, Colo. He was 83 years old. Alvin served in the U.S. Army immediately after high school from 1944-1946 and was discharged at the end of World War II. RUSSELL - Theodore Clark "Ted" Luebbers, 64, of Russell, died Nov. 2, at Russell Regional Hospital. Ted was born July 3, 1946, in Great Bend, the son of Elmer "Fritz" and Bernice (Straub) Luebbers. He grew up in Claflin and graduated from Claflin High School in 1964. Ted was united in marriage to Kathey Oeser on April 1, 1965, in Claflin. This union was blessed with two children, Jeff and Lisa. BURDETT - Cecil Allen Coddington, 91, died Nov. 2 at his home in Emporia. Born May 22, 1919, in Cherokee, Okla., he was the son of Royal Earl and Gladys Rose Monroe Coddington. A lifetime resident of Alexander and Burdett, moving to Emporia in 2005, he was a retired farmer and self–employed electrician. On Aug. 3, 1942, he married Floy Louise Huddleston at Great Bend. She died on July 31, 2006.
Lenora Marie Ochs, 97, died Feb. 25 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born July 21, 1916, in rural Otis, she was the daughter of Fred and Julia (Schlegel) Stieben. On Oct. 6, 1935 she married Clarence Everett Ochs in Otis. He died on May 7, 1994. A Great Bend resident since 1978, coming from Otis, she was a part-owner, bookkeeper and parts lady at Ochs, Inc., until retirement.
LARNED - Ellen Nadine Bittner, 81, died Feb. 23, 2014 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. She was born Oct. 22, 1932, at Alton, Missouri, the daughter of Claude and Esther Barton Strain. A resident of the Great Bend formerly of Larned, she was a retired nurses aide at Gleason Hospital in Larned. She was of the Christian faith.
ST. JOHN - Leonard Rex Davis, 84, died Feb. 23 at Leisure Homestead, St. John. He was born Mar. 2, 1929, at Manter, the son of Earl R. and Rosa M. (Kidwell) Davis. He was a farmer/stockman and life-long resident of rural St. John.
Christy Smith, 49, died Feb. 22 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. Born May 22, 1964 at Travis U.S. Air Force Base Hospital in Fairfield, Calif., she was the daughter of Wendell H. and Mary (Brocher) Smith. A Great Bend resident since 1971, Christy was employed as a residential home care provider for Rosewood Services. She enjoyed animals, movies, reading, and sharing her wonderful wit and sense of humor. She particularly enjoyed helping others, always identifying with those in need.
Maxine R. Heueisen, 80, died Feb. 23 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born April 23, 1933 in Stafford County, she was the daughter of Earl and Jesse (Ballinger) Carr. She was employed in the admissions department at Larned State Hospital, previously employed as the activities director at the Great Bend Manor and served as a case worker for the Center For Counselling. MUNJOR - Mary Ann Gross, 74, died Feb. 22, at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. Born Aug. 21, 1939, in Hays, she was the daughter of Ignatius and Irene (Werth) Koerner. On April 18, 1959, she married Wilbert Gross in Hays. She was a former licensed hairdresser and spent many years as a homemaker. She loved family gatherings with her children and grandchildren and the special trips she took with the love of her life, Wilbert.
