BURDETT - Donald Lee Rodebaugh, 67, died Jan. 11 at Good Samaritan Village, Hutchinson. He was born Sept. 23, 1943, at Denver, Colo., the son of Wilbur "Bill" and Fern VanHorn Rodebaugh. A longtime resident of Burdett, he was an auditor, painter, carpenter and Environmental Services Employee at Larned State Hospital, Larned.
SCOTTSVILLE, Va. - Robert L. Rebein, 80, of Scottsville, Va., and formerly of Springfield, Va., passed away peacefully Jan. 9, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ellinwood on Dec. 4, 1930, to life-long residents Joseph and Louise Rebein.
SCOTT CITY - Patricia Atwood, 51, passed away on Jan. 8, at her home in Garden City. Born Oct. 9, 1959, in Garden City, she was the daughter of Milton W. and Elsie F. Turley Wright. On Sept. 2, 1978, she married Warren Feldt in Scott City, and to this union three children were born. She later married Steve Atwood on April 6, 1991, in Elkhart. Patricia was a cosmetologist and worked for Pioneer Manor in Hugoton for 14 years as a Certified Medication Aide before she moved to Garden City in 2010 from Elkhart.

OTIS - Kenneth R. "Mert" Straub, 67, died Jan. 8 at his home in Otis. Born April 27, 1943, in Claflin, he was the son of Raymond and Helen (Zecha) Straub. On Dec. 21, 1968, he married Doris Bartonek in Olmitz. She survives. A longtime resident of Otis, he was the owner of Straub Construction and an employee of BOC gases of Otis for 25 years. After retirement he was a custodian for Otis-Bison High School.
GARDEN CITY - James L. Keller, 81, died Jan. 7. Born April 29, 1929, in Seward, he was the son of Charlie and Lucille Keller. He grew up on a farm south of Great Bend. He attended Catholic school in Seward, before graduating from Great Bend High School in 1947. He attended the University of Kansas where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Fraternity. HOISINGTON – Marilyn L. Hoyt, 85, died Jan. 4, 2011, at Country Place Living Center, Hoisington. Born April 25, 1925, at Grenola, the daughter of George A. and Mary Westling Warner, she was a long-time Hoisington resident. She married Robert Hoyt Sept. 13, 1959, at Hoisington.
Lenora E. Brack, 78, of Great Bend, died Jan. 3 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood. She was born May 4, 1932, at Tulsa, Okla., the daughter of George Wellington and Alice Julia (Miller) Foster. A Great Bend resident since 1998, coming from Hoisington, she was a homemaker.
ST. JOHN - Genevieve Scalzi Hull, 75, died Jan. 1 at her home in St. John. She was born Apr. 25, 1935, in Syracuse, N.Y., the daughter of Giovani Batist and Caroline (Santel) Scalzi. On Feb. 27, 1954, she married William Don Hull in Alhambra, Calif. A cooking supervisor for 25 years at St. John Schools, she had been a resident of St. John since 1962. She attended a dental trade school in California and Fort Hays State College, Hays.
Robert L. "Bob" Bader, 78, died Jan. 4 in his home at Great Bend. He was born June 7, 1932, in Osborne County, the son of Fredrick Robert and Addie Mae (Clemans) Bader. He married Joan Habiger Sept. 1, 1955, at Hoisington. He was a commercial salesman for Becker Tire and Treading, Great Bend, for 50 years. He was a Great Bend resident since 1959, coming from Osborne.
RUSSELL - Sadie E. (Bachman) Feil, 92 of Russell, died Jan. 2 at the Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. She was born Nov. 17, 1918, southwest of Dorrance on the family farm, the daughter of Peter and Adella (Klusener) Bachman. She grew up in the Dorrance area and graduated from Dorrance High School. She married Jacob Feil, after he returned from the war, on Nov. 30, 1945, in Dorrance. They lived in Russell until 1954 when the family moved to Wichita. The family returned to Russell in 1959. Sister Bertilla Brungardt, 86, died Aug. 28, in the Dominican Sisters' convent infirmary, Great Bend. Born Dec. 17, 1927, in Liebenthal as Germana Brungardt, Sister Bertilla was the daughter of the late Adam Joseph and Josephine Heili Brungardt. She was raised by her father and stepmother, Emma Wasinger Quint Brungardt. She entered the Dominican Sisters' Community on Sept. 10, 1944, and pronounced her first vows on Aug. 13, 1947. She celebrated 65 years of religious profession in 2012.

Roberta Jo Carr, 59, died Aug. 25 at Great Bend Regional Medical Center. She was born on Sept. 11, 1954, in Fayette County, Ohio. Roberta was a resident of Great Bend since 1987, moving from Washington Courthouse, Ohio. She worked as a night auditor for Days Inn.
Bennie Lou Moos, 69, died Aug. 24, at Hays Medical Center. Born June 18, 1945, in Hoisington, she was the daughter of Leon and Vanonda (Wise) Gray. On April 28, 1962, she married Don J. Leiker in Great Bend. They were later divorced. She then married Lyle L. Workman. He passed away in 2003. She then married Robert W. Moos on May 2, 2013, in Great Bend. He survives. A resident of Great Bend since 1986, coming from WaKeeney where she had resided since 1971, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, craft work, floral arranging and music.
DADE CITY, Fla. - Paul Folds of Dade City, Fla. passed away Aug 21, at 67 years of age. Paul loved his family, friends, and animals. He had a kind heart and was always giving what he could to others. ELLINWOOD - Lincoln Paul Tschopp, 78, died Aug. 17, at his home in Ellinwood. Born on Feb. 12, 1936, in Winfield, he was the son of Frederick and Cleoa (Pishney) Tschopp of Udall. He graduated as the first four sport letterman from Udall High School and holds degrees from both BCCC and Friends University in Wichita. After the 1955 Udall tornado destroyed his hometown, Paul enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Special Weapons Command. On April 4, 1975, he married Lillian Milberger in Wichita.
