LARNED - Keith Eugene Rolo, 84, died Dec. 9 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned. He was born Jan. 18, 1926, at Larned, the son of Francis and Mary Bowman Rolo. A longtime resident of Pawnee County, he was a retired farmer and custom harvester. He was a graduate of Zook High School class of 1943.
Beth C. Schneider, 90, of Great Bend, died Dec. 10 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Sept. 26, 1920, at La Crosse, the daughter of Chester H. and Ollie V. (Butler) Crotinger. She married William C. Schneider Jan. 24, 1949, at Rush County. He died July 10, 1962. A Great Bend resident since 1992, coming from Rush County, she was a homemaker.
HILL CITY - Alberta May Edwards, 91, died Dec. 9 at Dawson Place Nursing Home. She was born July 23, 1919, at Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Charles E. and Wilma (Barnett) Bratton. She married Cleophas John Edwards March 28, 1947. A longtime Hill City resident, she was a homemaker.
LARNED - Eric Rulon Colglazier, 61, died Dec. 7, at Hays Medical Center. He was born May 3, 1949, in Great Bend, the son of Harlan Dean and Jadene Eva Stickler Colglazier. A lifetime Pawnee County resident, he was a registered nurse for Larned State Hospital.
REDFIELD, Iowa - Alan E. Nordman, of Redfield and formerly of Great Bend, passed away suddenly at home Dec. 6. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Great Bend. Family will greet friends for an hour before services. Visitation and prayer services were to be held Wednesday at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel, Iowa.

MISSION VIEJO, CALIF. - Eleanor Kaiser, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Nov. 21 in Mission Viejo, Calif. She was 88 years old. Eleanor was born March 11, 1922, on a farm near Kenmare, N.D., the daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Rud) Engeberg.

Kathryn Elaine Kimbrough, 54, of Great Bend, died Dec. 6 at her home. She was born Oct. 24, 1956, at Syracuse, the daughter of Loren and Peggy (Johnson) Thompson. She married Ronald Kimbrough on April 3, 1973, in Syracuse. She was a Kansas native with ties to California.
CLAFLIN - Martina M. Luebbers, 92, died Dec. 5 at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita. Born March 17, 1918, at Marienthal, she was the daughter of Martin and Anna (Lauber)Younger. She married Joseph Luebbers on May 3, 1949, at Hoisington. He died March 15, 1977. A longtime Claflin resident, coming from Hoisington, she was a homemaker and the Claflin librarian from 1971 to 1988.
PRATT - Basil L. "Bud" McManaman, 88, died Dec. 6 at South Wind Hospice in Pratt. He was born June 10, 1922, in Pratt, to Basil and Iva (Greenstreet) McManaman. He married Margaret Lou Patton in 1945, and a daughter, Candy was born to this union. She preceded him in death in 1948. He married Pauline Lawrenz on May 26, 1954, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pratt. She survives.
RAYMOND – Gladys G. Boy Starr, 82, died Dec. 5 at her Raymond residence. She was born Dec. 18, 1927, at Raymond, the daughter of Adolph and Nora Marie Gordon Boy. She married H. Allison Starr Dec. 20, 1946, at Colby. He died July 3, 1981. She was a lifetime Raymond resident and a homemaker. She graduated from Raymond High School and attended Kansas State University.

A resident of Great Bend since 1954, moving from Chase, she and her husband owned and operated Don's Food Mart, and she retired from Dillons Pharmacy.
HOISINGTON - Lila Jean Haberman, 80, died Oct. 11 at her daughter's home in Olmitz. She was born Jan. 22, 1934, in Galatia, the daughter of Henry and Martha (Steinert) Wagner. Paul E. Dyer, 84, died Oct. 8 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Feb. 20, 1930, in Great Bend, he was the son of Homer and Katherine (Jones) Dyer. On Jan. 4, 1954, he married Julitta M. Elsen, in Great Bend. She died on March 12, 1995. He was a lifetime resident of Great Bend.
John D. Trimmer, 65, of Great Bend and formerly of Pawnee Rock and Dundee, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 8, at Great Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center in Great Bend. He was born on Feb. 11, 1949, at Belleville, to George Franklin and Edna Alene (Larr) Trimmer. He graduated from Republic County Schools in 1965 and was united in marriage to Diana Levingston on June 10, 1976, at Pawnee Rock. She died on July 22, 2013. John worked as a chain hand in the oilfield prior to his retirement. He enjoyed rock collecting, watching wrestling and spending time with family.
CIMARRON - Johnna Franks, 65, died Oct. 8, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. Born Nov. 1, 1948, in Independence, she was the daughter of Johnnie and Norma (Marlett) Carroll. She graduated high school in Fredonia. She was a convenience store manager for 30 years. On June 28, 1970, she married Larry Franks in Fredonia. She and Larry moved to Cimarron from Great Bend, and spent the last three years RVing full time. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing cards.
LA CROSSE - Viola Mae Yost, 99, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Oct. 7, at Locust Grove Village in La Crosse. Born Viola Mae Wimmer on July 25, 1915, in Harlan, she was the daughter of Harvey Lester and Mary Ann Zion Wimmer. She graduated from Portis High School, attended college at York College for two years, then finished her teaching education at Fort Hays State University. Robert J. "Bob" Tittel, 56, passed away on Sunday morning, Oct. 5, at Great Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born on Jan. 23, 1958 in Ness City, he was the son of Benhardt and Hildegard Frieda Emma (Schettler) Tittel. In 1976, he graduated from Ness City High School, and that same year he moved to Great Bend. A longtime Great Bend resident, he worked for many years as a cable technician for CableVision in Great Bend until health issues prevented him from working. Bob was a bit of a Jack-of-all-trades, and enjoyed many activities, including auto body restoration.
James W. Herren, 92, died Oct. 6, at Sumner County Care Center in Wellington. Born June 24, 1922, in Great Bend, he was the son of George L. and Minda (Knighton) Herren. On July 10, 1978, he married Beverly A. Barnes in Wichita. She preceded him in death. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was a supervisor for Kansas Foundation for the Blind.
