GUYMON, Okla. - Judy Kay Prather, 57, of Guymon, Okla., passed away Friday afternoon, Dec. 7, at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon. The daughter of Michael Ross and Othilia Bertha (Bender) Prather, she was born June 10, 1955, in Great Bend. She attended the Countryside school, as well as the Laverne and Keyes, Okla., schools, graduating from Keyes High School with the Class of 1974.
OTIS - Ivan E. Worthen, 91, died Dec. 5 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia. Born Nov. 23, 1921 in Vinson, Okla., he was the son of Jeffie Earl and Velma Clara (Akers) Worthen. On Feb. 15, 1948 he married Imogene Carpenter in Mangum, Okla. She died on Jan. 3, 1999. A resident of Concordia since 2007, coming from Otis, he was employed at the helium plant, sold insurance for Farm Bureau and finished at the Otis State Bank as a cashier and retired as Senior Vice president.
Patricia L. Schutte, 88, died Dec. 6 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born June 22, 1924, in Rush County, she was the daughter of Ernest Edwin and Olive Alma (Button) Honderick. On Sept. 6, 1945, she married James Howard Schutte in LaCrosse. He died on Nov. 6, 2004. A Great Bend resident since 1960, coming from LaCrosse, she was a home economics teacher at Harrison and Roosevelt Junior High Schools and Great Bend High School.
Florence O. Mai, 92, died Dec. 6 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born Oct. 3, 1920, at Galatia, she was the daughter of Emanuel and Elizabeth (Popp) Nuss. She married Walter Adam Mai Oct. 7, 1941, in Russell. A Great Bend resident since 1945, coming from Galatia, she worked as a clerk for Sears, Alco and other department stores.
HOISINGTON - Marlin Ray Hughes, 51, died Dec. 3, 2012 in Barton County as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born March 14, 1961 at Norton, the son of Howard and Marian (Bennett) Hughes. He married Alicia Day Rodriguez May 1, 2010 at Ulysses. He was a train engineer for Watco Inc. Marlin was a Great Bend and Hoisington resident since 1983. He served in the United States Army.
Doris "Arlene" Bigham, 89, formerly of Great Bend, died Dec. 1 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice-St. Francis in Wichita. She was born the daughter of Roy and Nellie (Stump) Van Cleave on March 18, 1923 in Pawnee County near Larned. In 1943, Arlene and Phillip Eugene Bigham were united in marriage in Denver, Colo. Together they celebrated 32 years of marriage. She was a loving mother and grandmother that touched many lives. All that knew Arlene loved her dearly.
Pearl Corrine Birzer, 93, died Nov. 28 at New Horizons Care Center in Lovell, Wyo. Born April 3, 1919 in Hoisington she was the daughter of Frank and Liva Della (Sharp) Eveleigh. On Aug. 11, 1943 she married Leonard Andrew Birzer in Great Bend. He died on July 29, 1995. A lifetime resident of Barton County, moving to Cody, Wyo. in 2007, she was a bookkeeper for Rice Engineering and retired in 1986 from the Great Bend Job Service Center.
Marie Schank, 92, died Nov. 29 at her home in Great Bend. Born April 4, 1920 in Rush County, she was the daughter of Frank and Anna (Horacek) Nepereny. On Sept. 14, 1937 she married John W. Schank in Wichita. He died on March 5, 1966. A resident of Great Bend since 1972, coming from Hays, she was a tax clerk for the Barton County Treasurer's Office, retiring in 1986.
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Muriel S. Machal, 91, died April 25, at Cheyenne Mountain Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Born Jan. 13, 1924, in Kinsley, she was the daughter of Ray and Ida (Robbins) Stewart. On April 3, 1957, she married Joseph Anthony Machal in Great Bend, He died on Dec. 21, 1992. A resident of Colorado Springs, Colo. for seven years, coming from Great Bend, she was an insurance and financial planner for L.C. Harmon Agency.
CLAFLIN - Diana Beth Kaeberle, 57, died April 25, at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. Born Feb. 5, 1958, in Greenville, Miss., she was the daughter of Donald and Reba (Atkins) Beckum. On June 20, 1992, she married Steven Kaeberle in Wilson. A 25 year Barton County resident, living most recently in Claflin, she was a secretary for Barton Community College.
HOISINGTON - Twilla Joyce Brack, 83, died April 25, 2015, at Hays Medical Center in Hays. She was born July 20, 1931, on a farmstead west of Hoisington, the daughter of Henry Cordrey and Maudie Elizabeth (Anglin) Spires. Twilla attended Hoisington High School.
ELLINWOOD - Angelina M. Henry, 49, of Ellinwood, passed away on Friday afternoon, April 24, 2015, at Ellinwood District Hospital in Ellinwood after a sudden illness. Angie was born on May 22, 1965, at Great Bend, to Wellington Mark Radford Jr. and Margaret Louise (Webster) Radford. Kenneth L. "Kenny" Blair, 83, passed away on Friday morning, April 24, 2015, at Almost Home Inc. in Great Bend. Born Sept. 4, 1931, in Braggs, Oklahoma, he was the son of Riley and Mary Belle (McMillan) Blair. In 1949, he came to Great Bend. On Jan. 21, 1951, he was united in marriage to Garnetta E. UTICA - Linda Lee Dodrill, 70, passed away at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis, Wichita, on April 8, 2015. She was born on May 18, 1944, in Ransom, the daughter of Joseph D. and Maxine Hansen Cheney. On Sept. 15, 1963, she married Donald Dodrill in Utica. He passed away on April 21, 2015.
TIMKEN - Robert L. Kraisinger, 79, died April 13, 2015, at Caney Nursing Center in Caney. Born March 24, 1936, in Timken, he was the son of Robert S. and Helen M. (Koci) Kraisinger. He was a 1953 graduate of Bison High School. On April 23, 1958, he married Angelina M. Krmela at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Olmitz. She preceded him in death on May 18, 2002. A lifelong resident of Rush County, he was a farmer and truck driver before his retirement.

Born Nov. 3, 1918, on the family farm in Russell County just north of Bender Hill, he was the son of Ferdinand and Pauline (Karst) Dietz.
