FORT MCCOY,FLA. - Mr. Leroy "Bill" Maddox, 83, of Ft. McCoy, Fla., passed away on March 19, at his son's home in Williston, FlA. He was born in Laurel, Miss. and moved to Ft. McCoy, Fla. in 1979 from Miami, Fla., where he retired following 32 years of service as a supervisor for Southern Bell Telephone. Bill loved fishing and hunting, loved gardening and traveling and loved tinkering around his home.

David Dean Seyfert, 39, died March 23 at his residence. Born July 5, 1971 in Great Bend, he was the son of Dale D. and Shirley R. (Smith) Seyfert. A resident of Great Bend for 20 years, coming from the farm north of Claflin, he was a small engine repairman for Carr Auto and Electronics. His hobbies were working on mowers, chain saws or any small engine repair.
ELLINWOOD - Ruth E. Banks, 96, died March 22 at the Ellinwood District Hospital. Born Dec. 18, 1914 in Ellinwood, she was the daughter of Frank Tullis and Beary Mustain Tullis Waddle. A lifetime resident of Ellinwood, she was a retired telephone operator and homemaker. On Aug. 8, 1937 she married Harry French. On March 5, 1948 she married C.W. Schnurr. On May 26, 1972 she married W.F. (Bill) Banks. All preceded her in death.

Robert "Bobby" Kasper Jr., 34, died March 18 in Barton County. Born Oct. 16, 1976, in Wichita, he was the son of Robert Wayne and Peggy (Lietzke) Kasper Sr. A resident of Great Bend since 1980, coming from El Dorado, he was a truck driver for Sioux Tank Service. WICHITA - Christine M. Suchy, 93, died May 9th. A former resident of Great Bend, she was a retired Assistant Manager for Payless Shoes. Christine was an avid gardener and crafter. Her true love was Iris. In 2006 she had an Iris introduced in her honor. Her tenacity for getting through any struggle was her finest quality.

BURDETT - Arthur Lewis Mostrom, 88, died May 8 at Larned Healthcare Center. Born March 16, 1925, in Spearville, he was the son of Clarence H. and Merion E. North Mostrom. On Aug. 17, 1952, he married Faye Schadel in Alexander. She survives. A longtime resident of Burdett, he was a retired mechanic and custodian.
