WICHITA - Randall Eugene Oliver, 89, passed away March 11 at Lakewood Senior Living Center in Wichita. He was born Sept. 15, 1921, in Madison, the son of Willis Monroe and Amy Freelove Holland Oliver. He graduated from Madison High School in 1939. He retired from the U. S. Navy and had served during World War II in the Pacific.

OMAHA, NEB. - Barbara C. Boyd, 62, of Omaha, Neb., died Feb. 27. She was born on Jan. 11, 1949.
Paul Turnbull, 81, went to meet Jesus Feb. 20, 2011. Paul, the youngest of 11, and his twin, John, were born in Elizabeth, Pa., in 1929. He attended Sterling College and served as Bushton Postmaster 42 years and on boards of USD 328 and Great Bend Center for Counseling. Paul loved gardening, swimming, family camping trips, making home-made ice cream, playing Boogaloo and Tennessee Turnbull Reunions.
Archie "Galen" Allen, 73, died March 4 at home in Great Bend. He was born Jan. 25, 1938, at Great Bend, the son of Archie Roy and Rosetta Mae (Smiley) Allen. He married Barbara Leah Feaster on Jan. 1, 1963, at Windsor, Mo. She died June 29, 2006. He worked for the Boeing Company in Seattle, Wash., as an engineer. Mr. Allen was a lifelong resident of Great Bend, also living in Bozeman, Mont., Seattle, Wash., and Torrance, Calif.
ELLINWOOD - Wilma G. Dannebohm, 75, died March 7 at Stafford County Hospital in Stafford. She was born May 3, 1935, at Midian, the daughter of Ted and Irene Waterman Zimmerman. She graduated from Ellinwood High School. A lifetime Ellinwood resident, she was a nurse at Ellinwood District Hospital, a florist at Flowers and Things and a secretary at Immanuel United Church of Christ, all of Ellinwood.
NESS CITY - Gilbert Philip Rebel, age 84, passed away on March 5 at Hays Medical Center in Hays. He was born on Feb. 18, 1927, in Schoenchen, the son of Joe and Lena Zimmerman Rebel. He was a farmer and he worked for Ness County road maintenance for 37 years.
KIMBALL, Neb. - Patrick A. Dunegan, 73, of Kimball, Neb., died March 3 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colo. Born Sept. 6, 1939, in Ellinwood, he was the son of Patrick and Mildred (Powell) Dunegan. He was raised and attended school in Great Bend. He married Carol L. Wenger on Sept. 15, 1957, at Great Bend. The family moved to Kimball in 1958 and he worked with Curley Hensley doing metal fabrication in the oil field. He retired in 2007.
LIEBENTHAL - William W. "Bill" Legleiter, 85, of Liebenthal, passed away March 6 at Hays Medical Center in Hays. Born on Nov. 11, 1925, in rural Liebenthal, he was the son of Nick and Katie (Urban) Legleiter. He married Rita Giebler on Nov. 27, 1946, in Catharine. He was a farmer and stockman who was known to be a hard working man. He had served on the La Crosse Co-op Board and School Board and was a 4-H leader in Liebenthal.

TULSA, Okla. - George James "Jim" Eastwood, 63, was born on July 25, 1947 in Great Bend to George and Mary (Welch) Eastwood. Jim passed from this life on March 2 in Tulsa, Okla. at the age of 63.
HOISINGTON - John Maynard Little, 55, died March 3 at Clara Barton Hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1955 at Hoisington, the son of Harold E. and Wilma M. (Lust) Little.
ELLINWOOD - Judith Kay Ritchie, 69, died March 3 at the Ellinwood District Hospital. Born June 23, 1941 in Hays, she was the daughter of Roy Lafayette Bailes and Genevieve Marie Davis Bailes. BURDETT - Arthur Lewis Mostrom, 88, died May 8 at Larned Healthcare Center. Born March 16, 1925, in Spearville, he was the son of Clarence H. and Merion E. North Mostrom. On Aug. 17, 1952, he married Faye Schadel in Alexander. She survives. A longtime resident of Burdett, he was a retired mechanic and custodian.
LAWRENCE - Surrounded by her four children at her home, Norma Lea Curry Shafer-Yancey, 84, peacefully passed away on May 4th. LAWRENCE - Sylvia M. Wagner, 86, died on May 2, at Brandon Woods in Lawrence. Born Feb. 24, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of John and Marie (Wollert) Schmidt. On Nov. 17, 1946, she married Duane Wagner in Ellinwood. He preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 1991. She was a housewife and bank teller. She was an avid reader and enjoyed needlepoint.
LAWRENCE - Charles L. Curtiss, 61, concluded his battle with cancer May 6, at his home. Born on July 30, 1951, in Lawrence, he was the son of Earl and Oma Lee (Coleman) Curtiss. Dan Allen Noblitt, 78, died May 4 at his home in Great Bend. Born Oct. 16, 1934 in Great Bend, he was the son of George O. and Edith (Marsh) Noblitt. On April 18, 1958 he married Thelma Beebe in Norwalk, Calif. A long time resident of Great Bend, he was most recently employed as a regional manager for Super 8 Motels.
BELPRE - Helen R. Berscheidt, 94, died April 19, at the Halstead Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Nov. 22, 1918, she was the daughter of Matt and Martha Heinke Maes. On Feb. 4, 1941 she married John N. Berscheidt in Claflin. He passed away in 1974. A lifetime area resident she was a farmwife and an occupational therapist for the Larned State Hospital for 25 years.
