She married Gerald J. Christiansen July 14, 1946, at Great Bend. A lifetime Great Bend resident, she was a homemaker.

HICKORY, N.C. - Dr. Keith Melvin Ochs, "Doc", 74, died peacefully at home on Dec. 6, due to declining health. Keith was born, Sept. 24, 1936, in Great Bend, to the late Melvin C. Ochs and Emma Schneider Ochs. He was employed by Lenoir-Rhyne University during the years of 1970 until his retirement in 1996. MALVERN, Ark. - Brandon "Teddy Bear" Williams, 45, passed away at his home Nov. 27. He was born April 25, 1965, in Hastings, Neb., the son of Rickey and Connie (Oetken) Williams. Brandon had worked at Precision Industries for 20 years and was a member of the Reyburn Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

NEKOMA - John F. Jones, 85, died Dec. 8 at the Rhode Island Suites in Ransom. Born June 27, 1925, in Cromwell, Okla., he was the son of Herbert and Lenora (Hibbard) Jones. He was a 1943 graduate of Stafford High School. A resident of rural Nekoma for more than 50 years, moving from Stafford, he was an agent for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company and a farmer before his retirement.

LARNED - Keith Eugene Rolo, 84, died Dec. 9 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned. He was born Jan. 18, 1926, at Larned, the son of Francis and Mary Bowman Rolo. A longtime resident of Pawnee County, he was a retired farmer and custom harvester. He was a graduate of Zook High School class of 1943.

Beth C. Schneider, 90, of Great Bend, died Dec. 10 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Sept. 26, 1920, at La Crosse, the daughter of Chester H. and Ollie V. (Butler) Crotinger. She married William C. Schneider Jan. 24, 1949, at Rush County. He died July 10, 1962. A Great Bend resident since 1992, coming from Rush County, she was a homemaker.

Michael Wayne Kirkman, 62, died June 7 at his home in Midwest City, Okla. Born Nov. 6, 1950 in Great Bend, he was the son of Wayne and Carolyn (Nowles) Kirkman. On Aug. 12, 1972, he married Gail Broadbooks in Great Bend. They later divorced. A longtime resident of Great Bend and Pratt, residing in Midwest City, Okla. for three years, he was an oilfield salesman for W.L. Kirkman, Inc., until his retirement.

ELLINWOOD - A celebration of life memorial gathering for Melvin L. Krom will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Great Bend with Pastor Doyle Smith officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. A lunch for family and friends will be served at 1 p.m. before services.

ELLINWOOD - Melvin L. Krom, 83, died June 6 at the Good Samaritan Center in Lyons. Born March 24, 1930 in Galatia, he was the son of Conrad H. and Nima Schafer Krom. On Nov. 6, 1953 he married Bessie Weber in Galatia. They later divorced. A resident of Great Bend, formerly longtime Ellinwood resident, he worked as an oil field supervisor for Stevens Well Service and maintenance supervisor for Grove Park Golf Course in Ellinwood.
