ELLINWOOD - Robert M. Miller, 90, died Sept. 30, at Country Place Senior Living in Ellinwood. Born June 10, 1923 in Rockport, Mo., he was the son of Walter and Nellie Miller. On Nov. 23, 1956, he married Evelyn L. Martin in Rockport, Mo. He was a longtime resident of Ellinwood.
Sister Mary Ann Klein (Sister Mary James), 88, died Oct. 4, in the Catholic Care Center in Wichita. Born Dec. 4, 1924, in Fowler, Sister Mary Ann was the daughter of Jacob and Anna Hoffman Klein. She entered the Dominican Sisters in Great Bend on March 17, 1940, and pronounced her first vows Aug. 13, 1943. She celebrated 70 years of religious profession earlier this year. Sister Mary Ann began her ministerial life as a teacher in parochial elementary schools in Odin, Willowdale, La Crosse, and Clonmel. HOLYROOD - Henry J. E. Schultz, 91, died Oct. 2 in Hoisington. Born May 21, 1922, in Ellsworth County, he was the son of Adolph Sr. and Augusta (Bohl) Schultz. A lifetime resident of Ellsworth County, he was a farmer and stockman and a retired rural mail carrier. On Oct. 15, 1946, he married Edith Schepmann in Holyrood. She preceded him in death Dec. 31, 2010.
HUDSON - Memorial services for Marcella Ann Minden, who died on Sept. 12, 2013 at her home in Hudson, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Hudson Community Hall with the Rev. Scott Solether presiding.
Rossie Mae Lauber, 71, died Oct. 1 at her home in Great Bend. Born May 23, 1942 in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Eugene Debbs and Okla Marie (Dixon) Addington. In 1961, she married Lawrence Fredrick Rowe in Miami, Okla. They later divorced. She then married Virgil Lewis in 1971 in Great Bend. They later divorced. She then married Wilfred Patrick Lauber Sr. on Aug. 24, 1979 in Great Bend. He died on March 11, 2005. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, she was a homecare worker for the State of Kansas.
BUSHTON - Memorial service for Ella Marie Hohl will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Bushton United Methodist Church. Marie's three daughters and families will be available to visit with friends following the service until 3 p.m.
