AURORA, Colo. - Laura Harrell Arbuckle, 41 of Aurora, Colo., formerly of Larned passed away Saturday, April 23. She was born April 30, 1969, at Pratt, the daughter of Jon and Cheryl Harrell. She graduated from Larned High School in 1987, and later attended Friends University. She married Curtis Arbuckle on Aug. 21, 1991.
ARKANSAS CITY - Florence C. (Maloney) Walter-McDermott, 74, of Arkansas City, formerly of Great Bend, died Monday at Sterling House of Arkansas City. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
MCPHERSON - Kathleen M. Honomichl, 89, died April 24 at Memorial Hospital in McPherson. Born on Nov. 16, 1921, in Langley, she was the daughter of Edward W. and Beatrice J. (Allen) Buffington. She graduated from Marquette High School. On Feb. 4, 1957, she married Miles Lou Honomichl. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2001. She was a retired office manager for Cablevision in McPherson.
WICHITA - Shirley A. Waldroupe, 66, died April 24 at the Harry Hines Memorial Hospice Center-Via Christi in Wichita. Born April 24, 1945 in rural Rush County, she was the daughter of Leon Henry and Florence (Pfeifer) Matal. She graduated from Bison High School. A resident of Wichita for seven years, moving from Great Bend, she was a motor route carrier for the Great Bend Tribune and owner of T&J Bait and Tackle in Great Bend with her husband.
Mildred F. Sweeden, 85, died April 23 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. She was born June 3, 1925, at Yale, Okla., the daughter of John B. and Anna (Bachalor) Lanning. She married Alvin M. Sweeden Sr. on April 3, 1946, at Stillwater, Okla. He died April 27, 1991. A Great Bend resident for most of her life, she was a homemaker.
KANSAS CITY, MO. - Joseph G. Buehler, 73, a resident of Kansas City, Mo., passed away from complications of Parkinson's disease on April 21 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Holyrood on Dec. 7, 1937, to Carl and Georgia (Dressler) Buehler. He was a graduate of Claflin High School. In 1959, he married Darlene Redetzke in Dubuque.
Cleo May Barton died April 22 at her home in Great Bend. Born in Moscow, Kan., she was the daughter of Roy A. and Bessie E. (Stevens) May. She married C. E. "Clem" Barton on Feb. 14, 1941, at Cimarron. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage. He died Dec. 9, 2002. A Great Bend resident since 1951, coming from Dodge City, she was a homemaker.
WICHITA - Beatrice "Bea" Bissing, 98, entered eternal life on April 20, 2011. She passed away in Denver, Colo., where she has been living since 2001.
Charles Leroy Buehler, 84, died April 21 at Kansas Medical Center, Andover. He was born July 7, 1926, at Claflin, the son of Charles Rudolph and Josephine Martha (Kooci) Buehler. He married Virginia Ruth Folck on Feb. 1, 1946, at Lyons. He was a Great Bend resident and served during World War II in the U.S. Navy.
LeRoy Eugene Smiley, 66, died Feb. 9 at Boulder, Colo. Born Aug. 7, 1944, in Great Bend, he was the son of Gerald and Winona Smiley.

WINFIELD - David C. (Dave) Warren, 84, died April 18. Born April 21, 1926 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he was the son of Merb and Mabel (Crosen) Warren. In 1944, he graduated from McKinley High School and attended Coe College, both in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1951, he graduated from Southwestern College in Winfield. He taught and coached for five years in Potwin, one year in Gossell, five years in Pretty Prairie, six years in Newton, and 20 years in Winfield. BUSHTON - Joseph W. Porter, 85, died April 18 at the Rice County District Hospital in Lyons. He was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Keota Okla., the son of Charles and Olvia Gray Porter. On Sept. 30, 1947, he married Norma Louis on Sept. 30, 1947. A resident of Bushton since 1991, formerly of Tulsa, Okla., he grew up in McCurtain, Okla. He was an oilfield worker and a barber.
STILLWATER, Okla. - Corbin Dean Edmisson, 22, died April 16 in Stillwater, Okla. Born April 23, 1988, in Hutchinson, he was the son of Robert Dean and Gina Jo (Gagnebin) Edmisson.
Willa Mae Springfeldt, 93, died July 10, at Almost Home in Great Bend. Born July 11, 1920, in Springfield, Mo., she was the daughter of William and Ethel Mae (Renfro) Teem. On Nov. 23, 1940, she married Virgil L. Springfeldt in Cottonwood Falls. He died on June 7, 1992. A resident of Great Bend since 1972, coming from Bushton, she and her husband were owner and operator of IGA of Bushton and Kwik Shop in Great Bend. She enjoyed playing the piano and cello.
Dennis A. Munoz, 66, longtime resident of Great Bend, passed away at his Great Bend home on Wednesday afternoon, July 9. Born Dec. 10, 1947, in Great Bend, he was the son of Frank and Katherine (Pyles) Munoz. In 1965, he graduated from Great Bend High School.
HOLLYWOOD, FLA.- Esther Dunham, 89, died Dec. 2, 2013 at Golfcrest Health Care Center, Hollywood, Fla. Born July 16, 1924 at Scottsbluff, Neb., she was the daughter of Lee Selby and Alice Butler. She married Jack Dunham June 9, 1945 at Hays, Kan. A former resident of Great Bend before moving to Florida, she was employed at J. C. Penney and the Barton County Health Department until her retirement.
ELLINWOOD--Joyce Marie Fullbright, 83, passed away in Ellinwood on July 10. Born Oct. 1, 1930 in Georgetown, Ark., she was the daughter of Briles and Myrtle (Chambers) Andrews.
Connie Rosalie Peacock, 91, died July 11 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood. Born Feb. 21, 1923 at WaKeeney, she was the daughter of Pete and Antonia (Solowski) Gregorcyk.
Larry Randall Miller, 55, died May 31, in San Diego, Calif. Born March 10, 1959 at Great Bend, he was the son of Harold S. and Dorothy J. Miller. He joined the Coast Guard in 1978, working as a corpsman and was awarded a letter from President Ronald Reagan for saving a life. He attended Wichita State University on the GI Bill and later worked as a respiratory therapist and cardiology technician. He married Bernadette Alison December 31, 1990 at San Diego.
OLATHE - Christopher James Gross, 41, passed away July 5, 2014 at St. Joseph Medical Center from complications of his battle with brain cancer.
GREAT BEND - Lloyd E. White, 81, died July 8, 2014 at Western Plains Medical Center, Dodge City.
WYANDOTTE, Okla. - Theresa A. Wornkey, 81, died July 6, at Memorial Hospital in Joplin, Mo. Born Jan. 12, 1933, in Ellinwood, she was the daughter of Matt and Barbara (Hiney) Apel. On April 9, 1953, she married Jim Wornkey in Ellinwood. She was a 15 year resident of Wyandotte, Okla. where she enjoyed her retired years with her husband of over 60 years. Theresa was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who were touched by her life.
LARNED -Herman J. Mausolf, 85, passed away July 7 at Hays Medical Center. He was born March 11, 1929 in Albert; the son of Herman E. and Anna D. Jurgensen Mausolf. A longtime area resident he was a Chief Security Officer at the Larned State Hospital, retiring in 1991.
LARNED -Robert C. Sharp Sr., 80, passed away July 6 in Vassar. He was born Oct. 28, 1933, in Pratt, the son of Carl and Dorothy Cole Sharp. He was the owner of Sharp Sanitation in Larned.
PRATT - Laura Viola "Vi" Wagner, 79, died July 6, at South Wind Hospice in Pratt. Born Sept. 1, 1934, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Cash and Nellie Doty. On Jan. 30, 1959, she married Theodore (Nubbin) Heiter at Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death. She later married Bruce Wagner on May 23, 1986. He survives. She worked as a clerk at Crick's and also cooked for USD 382 and Pratt Regional Medical Center for a number of years. Her family was her passion.
James A. Norvell, 91, of Great Bend, died Sunday morning in Bartlesville, Okla. James spent his last few months at his son Brian's Bartlesville home. James Alfred Norvell was born the son of Ross and Georgie Fry Norvell on Sept. 14, 1922, in Piney, Ark. He grew up in various places until entering the United States Navy during World War II. During his service he served on various vessels and was present for the Allied Invasion of France. After his military service James went to western Kansas to do farm work. FREDONIA - Tom Stephen Welton, 67, a resident of Fredonia, formerly of Hoisington, and El Dorado, died July 5, at Fredonia Regional Hospital. Born Aug. 7, 1946, in Great Bend, he was the son of Donald E. and Mable (Roche) Welton. Tom was a graduate of Hoisington High School and received a bachelor's degree from Emporia State University. He was a retired office manager for Automotive Specialists in El Dorado.
HAYS - Louise Rohr, 99, Hays, died Friday, July 4, at the Hays Good Samaritan Society.
