CHASE - John G. Adams, 84, died Sept. 7 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born Jan. 29, 1927, at Lathem, the son of Roy J. and Gladys Goldie McCarty Adams. He married Vera M. Pfannenstiel on Sept. 10, 1957, at Great Bend. A former oil field pumper, he was a longtime Chase resident, and he moved to Lyons in 2010.
Kevin Damein Gilbert, 18, died Sept. 5 at his home in Great Bend. Born Oct. 18, 1992 in Wichita, he was the son of Scott Gilbert and Betsy Murphy. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he lived with his grandparents. He was employed recently for Hendrick's Exotic Animal Farm. His passions included golfing, fishing, chess, four-wheeling, and target shooting.
CLARKSTON, Mich. - Lou Ann (Weeks) Hinze, 56, died Sept. 3 at her residence. Born Oct. 15, 1954 in Hoisington, she was the daughter of Glenn E. Weeks and Beulah (Woodyard) Weeks. On June 15, 1984, she married Charles Hinze in Troy, Mich. He survives. A Clarkston, Mich. resident since 1984, she was formerly of Russell County.
EMPORIA - Jerome Joseph Younger, 77, died Sept. 4 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia. Born on Sept. 30, 1933, in Hoisington, he was the son of Martin and Anna (Lauber) Younger. On Sept. 15, 1962, he married Barbara Redman at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia. She survives at the home. He attended high school at Hoisington High. In 1960, he graduated from the Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business. Gary J. Christiansen, 63, died Sept. 3 at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita. Born Oct. 1, 1947 in Vallejo, Calif., he was the son of Gerald and Nadine (Amerine) Christiansen. On Dec. 1, 1992 he married Judy L. Green in Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Barton County, he was a self-employed carpet layer.
EUDORA - Jared David Axman, 21, died Sept. 3 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Born Feb. 14, 1990, in Great Bend, he was the son of David A. and Cynthia K. Stricker Axman. In 2011, he graduated from Lawrence Free State High School. Jared had recently become involved with Cottonwood, Inc.
TIMKIN – Louise Marie Besperat, 79, of Timken died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney. She was born Jan. 11, 1932, in rural Bison, the daughter of Casper and Mary (Schmidt) Jacobs. She was a lifelong resident of Rush County.
ELLINWOOD - Gary D. Dannebohm, 67, died Sept. 1 at the Kansas Soldier's Home in Fort Dodge. Born May 11, 1945, in Great Bend, he was the son of Stanley Dannebohm and Lillian Irene Parker Dannebohm. A longtime resident of Ellinwood, moving to the Kansas Soldier's Home in Fort Dodge, he was a truck driver.

OSBORNE - Kenneth G. "Shorty" Hackerott, formally of Pawnee Rock, died on Feb. 28, 2015, at Parkview Care Center in Osborne. Born on July 17, 1936, in Rooks County, he was the son of Otto R. Hackerott and Belle (Mitchell) Hackerott. He loved books, old cars, trucks and tractors and enjoyed the 3-I shows.
HOISINGTON - Luella "Lu" Fercking, 78, went to be with her Lord on May 10, 2015, at Hays Medical Center. Born Jan. 3, 1937, in Comanche County, at her Aunt Faye's farm house, she was the daughter of John and Lillie Cline. In 1954, she graduated from Ness City High School. On June 3, 1954, she married Robert "Ray" Fercking. He went to be with his Lord on Oct. 3, 2001. They moved to Great Bend in 1968.
