HOISINGTON - Adeline F. Bryant, 87, died April 7 at Country Place Senior Living in Hoisington. Born April 18, 1923 in Pitcher, Okla., she was the daughter of Oscar L. and Ida E. (Emily) Brandon. A Hoisington resident for 50 years, she was a homemaker. On Jan. 15, 1939 she married Vivian T. Bryant in Columbus. He died July 2, 1968.
Joyce Estella Goreham, 81, Gorham, died April 5, at Russell Regional Hospital. Born March 18, 1930, in Liberal, she was the daughter of Lewis F. and Emma C. (Mische) Culver. She grew up in Yates Center. On June 15, 1948, she married Rolland F. "Ladd" Goreham in Yates Center. She worked as a waitress for a number of years. In 1952, she moved to Russell.
NESS CITY - Jerry Keith Reinert, 72, died April 5, at the Hodgeman County Health Center in Jetmore. Born Nov, 14, 1938 on the farm in Southeast Ness County, he was the son of Henry and Alice Petersilie Reinert. A lifetime resident of Ness County and the Riverside community, he was a farmer. On May 2, 1965 he married Hazel Stewart at Scott City. She preceded him in death on March 19, 2005.
MACKSVILLE - Kim Arlene Sewing, 54, died Apr. 4 at the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned. Born July 19, 1956, at Coronado Island, Calif., she was the daughter of Franklin and Louise (Suiter) McCuller. She attended the Kilgore Community College in Texas. She was employed as a medical receptionist, and was a Macksville resident.
OSBORNE - Kenneth G. "Shorty" Hackerott, formally of Pawnee Rock, died on Feb. 28, 2015, at Parkview Care Center in Osborne. Born on July 17, 1936, in Rooks County, he was the son of Otto R. Hackerott and Belle (Mitchell) Hackerott. He loved books, old cars, trucks and tractors and enjoyed the 3-I shows.
HOISINGTON - Luella "Lu" Fercking, 78, went to be with her Lord on May 10, 2015, at Hays Medical Center. Born Jan. 3, 1937, in Comanche County, at her Aunt Faye's farm house, she was the daughter of John and Lillie Cline. In 1954, she graduated from Ness City High School. On June 3, 1954, she married Robert "Ray" Fercking. He went to be with his Lord on Oct. 3, 2001. They moved to Great Bend in 1968. GARFIELD - Naomi L. Converse, 76, went to Heaven on May 10, at Via Christi Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita. Born Dec. 11, 1938, in Larned, she was the daughter of Vernon Henry and Ella Angela Wilson Meckfessel. A lifetime area resident, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, nana and aunt. She farmed alongside her husband, Alan, for 58 years. She loved harvesting crops especially wheat. No one touched her combine! Most of all, she loved her husband and family.
