COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Louis J. Kaiser passed away, at his home, at the age of 86 on May 3, 2016. in Colorado Springs. Colo. with his wife Elaine Kaiser, and daughter Gina Kaiser by his side. Louis was born March 24, in Hoisington, to Joseph and Mary (Meyers) Kaiser. After marrying Elaine in 1955, they moved to Colorado Springs, Colo. on their honeymoon, and one year later moved to Colorado. In 1965, they adopted their only child, Gina. Louis worked for the El Paso County Highway Department and retired after 37 years of service.
Thomas Raymond Romme Jr., 46, died May 5, 2016, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. Born Feb. 19, 1970, in Great Bend he was the son of the late Thomas R. Romme and Lynne (Sauer) Romme Wooster and step-son of Paul Wooster. He was a salesperson and department manager for Del's Electronics in Salina, for 20 years.
Hazel I. Curtis, 86, died May 8, 2016, at Cherry Village Nursing Home in Great Bend. Born Feb. 2, 1930, in Emporia, she was the daughter of Andy I. and Ethel F. (Torrence) Fowler. On Dec. 24, 1948, she married Robert Leon Curtis in Emporia. He died on Sept. 27, 2006. A resident of Great Bend since 1951, coming from Emporia, she was a self employed nurse aide.

ALBERT - James J. "Jim" Rossman, 87, longtime Albert, Kansas resident, passed away on Thursday evening, May 5, 2016 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in Great Bend. Jim was born on August 29, 1928 at Scipio to John and Agnes (Wolken) Rossman. Jim came to McCracken, Kansas to work on a farm, where he met his future wife, Betty.
Bernie Lucille Linenberger, 90, died May 6, 2016, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation. Born June 19, 1925, in Olmitz, she was the daughter of Erwin and Mary (Schugart) Schneider. On May 12, 1948, she married Paul Joseph Linenberger in Olmitz. He died on may 21, 2013. A Great Bend resident since 1943, coming from Olmitz, she was a registered nurse, working in OB at St. Rose Hospital and later at Central Kansas Medical Center. She then worked for Dr. Anol W. Beahm.
TOPEKA - Donna Joann (West) Strobel, 83, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2016, at home in Topeka after battling cancer. As a registered nurse, she enjoyed her career caring for others at Larned State Hospital and KNI.
HOISINGTON - Jamie B. Moeder, 50, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2016, at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita. Born on Sept. 26, 1965, in Hoisington, she was the daughter of Leo (Red) and Marge Moeder. She grew up as the youngest of four girls and attended school in Claflin.
ROZEL - Nelson Lee Warren, 88, passed away May 2, 2016, at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned. Born May 9, 1927, in Pryor, Okla., he was the son of Samuel and Maude Warren. On June 15, 1952, he married Donna M. Thompson in Great Bend. She survives. A longtime area resident of Larned, he was a night foreman/machinist welder at Justice Supply Machine Shop in Farmington, N.M.
