HOISINGTON - Marion Jean Hicks, 49, died March 18 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. She was born Jan. 31, 1962, in Newport, R.I., the daughter of Eugene and Marion (Hendry) Benavidez. She married Gordon Hicks on April 15, 2004, at Hoisington. She was a homemaker and had been a Hoisington resident since 2001, coming from Alva, Okla.
Robert "Bobby" Kasper Jr., 34, died March 18 in Barton County. Born Oct. 16, 1976, in Wichita, he was the son of Robert Wayne and Peggy (Lietzke) Kasper Sr. A resident of Great Bend since 1980, coming from El Dorado, he was a truck driver for Sioux Tank Service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, drag racing, motorcycle riding and automotive work.
Fort Dodge - Dale E. "Gene" O'Connor, 75, died Feb. 27 at Fort Dodge. He was born Jan. 12, 1936, at Hoisington, the son of John William and Nola (Colhour) O'Connor.
ELLINWOOD - Marlene K. Robl, 79, died March 20 at Promise Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson. She was born Dec. 27, 1931, at Spearville, the daughter of Wilbert "Bill" and Irene (Kern) Schawe. A homemaker, she had been an Ellinwood resident since 1956, coming from Great Bend.

BELPRE - Helen R. Berscheidt, 94, died April 19, at the Halstead Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Nov. 22, 1918, she was the daughter of Matt and Martha Heinke Maes. On Feb. 4, 1941 she married John N. Berscheidt in Claflin. He passed away in 1974. A lifetime area resident she was a farmwife and an occupational therapist for the Larned State Hospital for 25 years.
